Canada strongly condemns Russia’s latest attack on Kyiv, including the strike on the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a sacred site in Ukraine and Eastern Christianity.
Canada stands with Ukraine. Their cause — freedom, democracy, sovereignty — is our cause.
Zelensky on LGBTQ:
“I believe that everything should be discussed openly with society, and that is completely normal.
We are all here, we are defending the state, we are the same, and we have equal rights, despite any prejudices dating back to the 15th century.”
⚡️ Budapest has reached an agreement with Kyiv on the rights of the Hungarian minority in Ukraine.
This opens the way for Ukraine’s EU accession. Hungary will no longer block it.
Canadian author Marsha Forchuk Skrypuch has launched Still Alive, the third and final book in her Kidnapped from Ukraine trilogy, inspired by the experiences of Ukrainian children affected by war.

A reminder that Russia is waging a terrorist war on Ukraine, and a reminder that standing by and watching are the richest nations on Earth, controlling the most powerful military alliance in history, an alliance created specifically to stop Russia in Europe. Sickening.
The moment of one of today’s Russian strikes on Kyiv.
I can see that fewer and fewer people are reading news from Ukraine. I understand that on a Sunday morning, people don’t want to read about war. They want to sleep a little longer, drink good coffee, and sit in the sun. I understand that. The algorithms on X limit content about war, destruction, and suffering. You have to make an effort to even see this information.
All of this is understandable on a human level. But unfortunately, if you remove Putin and the war from your information feed, they do not disappear from reality.
Putin is a sadist and a maniac. He is a threat to all of humanity.
There needs to be active resistance. News from Ukraine needs to be shared. People need to keep their focus.
Despite a sleepless night, I’m still here. And I’m grateful to everyone who continues to stand with us.
One day, we’ll drink morning coffee together in a beautiful, peaceful Kyiv.
Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians and members of other nations went through the Soviet machine of terror. The overwhelming majority of them – simply for being who they were. Today, together, we honored the memory of those killed by political repression at the Bykivnia Graves National Historical Memorial Preserve and also laid flowers at the Memorial Sign of Polish Burials.
These historical events of Russia’s savagery remind us again and again that evil cannot remain unpunished; otherwise, repression and abuse return with renewed force. Now, when thousands of our people – prisoners of war and civilian detainees – remain in Russian captivity and are going through the same trials, it is important not to forget this. At all levels, the necessary efforts must be made to bring back each and every one of them. And above all, we must ensure that justice is served and that the criminals are held accountable for their actions. The free world has enough strength to ensure this.
Guote from a citizen of Ukraine about President Zelensky:
"What Zelensky is doing now at the international level, no president of Ukraine could have even dreamed of, it is simply an epochal figure, I am proud of our leader, he literally saved Ukraine in 2012, when he collected aid from all over the world, and continues to do so every day, respect!"
🇺🇦❤️
He is Legend🫡
“Those who accuse NATO of expansion and escalation are adopting the imperialist rhetoric and ideology promoted by Russia. NATO is not a threat to Russian security, just Russian imperialism.”
- Kaja Kallas
So true....When will Russians and pro-Russians realize this?🤷♀️
💔 Russia is a terrorist state, one murdering civilians with missiles with impunity as the richest nations with the most powerful military forces in the world right next door choose every day not to stop it.
Look:
1. The Kremlin is afraid to hold a parade with military equipment on Red Square on May 9. Peskov openly admits it’s due to the threat of Ukrainian strikes.
2. Putin is asking President Trump for a ceasefire on May 9.
3. Russia’s Central Bank head Nabiullina says savings may need to be frozen and seized.
4. Russian oil depots are burning.
Ukraine is going through a very difficult time. But this is where we are now. We’re not just holding on - we’re doing our job.
Standing with Ukraine 🇺🇦
Every damned day. Do not look away. Do not grow numb. This is terror. This is mass murder by Russia in Ukraine. Every day. Europe could close the skies and give Ukraine the weapons it needs to defend itself and every day chooses not to.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is deliberately 'poking the bear' by lecturing putin on 'democracy’.
And just look at putin—the body language is a total disaster.
He slumped over, rubbing his forehead, and fidgeting like he’s trying to manifest an exit door out of thin air. You can practically hear his internal monologue screaming, 'Can someone please get this guy a script I’ve already approved?'
Pashinyan:
"Armenia is a democratic country, and we virtually always have political processes, and this is already a common thing for us. And virtually twice a year, we have elections—municipal elections—they are also very politicized because, as a result of our political reforms, people there also vote for or against political parties.
I mean that in our country, yes, very many of our citizens—not very many, but there are citizens who think that there is too much democracy in Armenia. But for us, this is a matter of principle. Our social networks, for example, are 100% free; there are no restrictions at all, none at all."
