@glitterinsilver It so true 💯
People really don't understand it for the best reasons . What is your will definitely stay and what is not your will definitely not last long enough
I came across something earlier that made me think about how we consume information online.
A piece of content can start with one person, get reposted by someone else, quoted by another person, turned into a screenshot, discussed in a group chat, and eventually find its way onto your timeline.
By the time you see it, you’re probably several steps removed from where it started.
Basically, serial dilution. 😭
And I think social media works the same way when it comes to opportunities.
Something happens somewhere, people pick it up, talk about it, create around it, and eventually it reaches the platform you’re on.
That’s why I find it funny when people still talk like X is the only place where you can build something online.
It isn’t.
There are people building serious communities on Reddit.
People growing businesses through LinkedIn.
Creators making money from YouTube.
People finding clients through Instagram.
Others building quietly through newsletters, Discord, Telegram and platforms most of us barely pay attention to.
Even the same idea can perform completely differently depending on where you put it.
The internet is much bigger than one timeline.
And I don’t think you need to be everywhere either.
That’s another trap.
You can pick a platform, understand the people there, learn how they consume content and actually build something.
But limiting yourself to one platform because that’s where everyone around you is building doesn’t make much sense.
Especially when platforms change.
Algorithms change.
People move.
Trends disappear.
The audience you have today might not even be consuming content in the same place two years from now.
So yeah, I still love X.
But X isn’t the internet.
It’s just one part of it.
And sometimes the opportunity you’re looking for is sitting somewhere else simply because you haven’t been looking there.

How do I start freelancing?
I get asked this a lot. And most people think freelancing is a job. And it's definitely not.
It's just offering a skill to people who need it, without answering to one employer.
You don't need to know everything first. What you need is one skill someone will pay for. It could be writing, design, video editing, code, managing someone's socials, translation, or whatever. Doesn't matter which, as long as people actually want it.
It's simple.
~ Pick one skill and get good at it.
~ Create a few sample projects, even if nobody hired you yet.
~ Build a simple portfolio
~ Join a freelance marketplace
~ Apply consistently and keep improving after every project.
To be honest, getting your first client is usually the hardest part. But once you do, every completed project becomes proof that you can actually deliver.
If you're looking for a marketplace to start from, you can check out @zinnhub, a newer platform where buyers pay 0% fees and freelancers keep 100% on their first $500 in sales, then low-tiered commissions after that. Worth checking out alongside the bigger names.
Freelancing isn't about escaping work. It's about creating opportunities with the skills you already have.
If you're just getting started, what skill are you planning to monetize?
