Movement is medicine.
Large systematic review of over 1,000 trials and 120,000 participants finds that exercise has a significant effect on symptoms of depression, anxiety, and psychological distress.
We need to do a better job of integrating mental and physical health.

I started writing this book four years ago.
I used to think that good technique was about hitting the right positions consistently. Now I am more interested in how people actually learn to move. That is what this book is about.

Today marks the second missing anniversary of Jack O'Sullivan's disappearance.
Jack, aged 22 at the time, was last seen walking towards the #Hotwells area of #Bristol, #Somerset, during the early hours of 2 March 2024.
We are thinking of his loved ones throughout this time.
To help #findJackOSullivan, please share this appeal and report your sightings to us.

So 79 year old Trump and 76 year old Netanyahu are throwing bombs at the 86 year old Ayatollah who is retaliating. Clearly, the route to world peace is to take over-75 year old men out of the picture.
PAUL SINTON-HEWITT @parkrun founder is my guest this week on NBHQ!
A really wonderful sit down with the man behind the global phenomenon that is Parkrun.
Paul was born in South Africa and spent much of his childhood in care, a difficult time for him where he found 🧵
An important message for anyone who wants to start running 🙌
*Why Running Is for Everyone (Even If You’re Slow)*
Let me tell you something that I wish more people heard when they first start running: you don’t have to be fast to be a runner.
Running is for everyone. All ages. All shapes. All abilities.
Whether you’re running your first minute without stopping, doing a walk-run (Jeffing), or just building up confidence to get out the front door — YOU ARE A RUNNER!
When I go out for a run, I don’t care about my pace or my time. I care about how it makes me feel. That energy after you move your body, the fresh air in your lungs, the sense of accomplishment.
You can’t measure these feelings on a smart watch.
I’ve spoken to people who’ve run marathons and still don’t see themselves as “real runners” because they were at the back of the pack.
I just did the London Marathon a few weeks ago and I jeffed the whole way and it took me 6-hours. For those of you that don’t know “Jeffing” is a method where you alternate between running and walking at set intervals. For example, you run 3 minutes / walk 1 minute, or run 60 seconds / walk 30 seconds. I had the most amazing day ever and I was so proud to collect my medal.
It’s easy to compare ourselves to others on social media or get caught up in the numbers, but the truth is, there’s no perfect pace. Your run is YOUR run. It’s not about being the fastest. It’s about showing up, for yourself.
So if you’re thinking about giving running a go, or you’ve started but feel a bit self-conscious — this is your reminder: you are a runner. You don’t have to be fast. You just have to start.
So lace up, get out there, and remember: slow runners are still runners.
Love, Joe x

Today marks one year since Jack disappeared. One year of unanswered questions, of searching, of hoping. One year of his family and friends living with the unimaginable pain of not knowing where he is or what happened.

@BathroomMarquee As followers of true crime will know – friendships & affiliations change over time and people who had reasons for perhaps not coming forward before may do so a year later. Please rekindle conversations and bring up the subject with anyone who may have been in the area that night.
