Then another, you say, but they are a lady. People help ladies.

I hope you do know that there is no prize for the person that can come up with the best excuse?

This so much shows how people have no sense of propriety and opinion becomes fluid when money and a stupendous amount of it are involved. Material success creates this halo effect where people infer wisdom or moral approval from financial outcomes.

The values you hold and second-order effect of your actions mean nothing to Nigerians provided you can demonstrate a lavish lifestyle. And what’s crazy is that we call it grace.

Our idea of grace is whoever ends up having money or fame or both and everything questionable be overlooked. Nigerians associating Grace with money is very problematic for me because I know the church is complicit.

I believed both played their parts at different times.

MT joined Shell at 29 with a PhD in Chemical Engineering.

There was a higher chance of 9-5 getting him that $120k per annum than direct entrepreneurship. He did not need any capital, any fundraising, any investor pitch, any running around to chase customers to earn the $120k in first year of 9-5. All he needed was his certificate and ability to defend it.

When I preach 9-5, that is what I mean.

He left 9-5 after 10 years. It is the experience, knowledge and networks he gathered over the 10 years (& earlier while studying) that helped his business stabilize enough to gross $500k in year 1 of business.

I still believe decent 9-5 is still a surer route for stability for a young person.

I earned $120K a year working for Shell in 2012.

Ten years and multiple promotions later, in 2022, that figure has doubled to $240K a year.

In 2023, I stumbled on an internal, confidential, document that showed the salaries of my superiors.

I saw that even if I were promoted multiple times again, the best I could hope for in another 10 years was another doubling to around $480K a year.

This may sound crazy saying it out loud but that wasn’t cutting it for me.

I simply didn’t want the next 10 years to be a repeat of the last 10.

I wanted geometric progression, not an arithmetic one.

On my 40th birthday, in 2023, I was asked to make a wish as a blew the candles on my birthday cake.

“Get the hell out of Shell,” I quietly whispered. Months later, I was out.

In 2024, my businesses grossed $500K; in 2025, they did $1M - geometric progression.

It required me to be delusional about my abilities, to bank on the faithfulness of God and to trust that inner voice that always nag at me that I could be more, I could do more and I could have more.

I want to write about the concept of SIN.

Distinguishing the Act of sin from the Nature of sin, and why and How people go to hell.

That being said, this is more reason why you should know that MINISTRY is not about dressing fine, fine suits and looking good. Ministry is real labor. It takes a lot to know God and to make Him known.

That being said, any man who is in hell, who will be in hell and who is on his way to hell primarily is en route because of the choice he made or didn’t make. God doesnt send people to hell. Salvation became consummated when Jesus said “It is finished” on the cross. The full claim of justice was fully satisfied.

Hopefully I publish this sooner as a quote.

Once again, it’s take a lot to know God and make Him known.
