A milestone day here at Martin State Airport!
Crews this afternoon installed the final steel beam to our future air traffic control tower. Our team and partners signed the beam prior to it being hoisted to the structure.

It was recently Picture Day for our snow team.
We appreciate their hard work in clearing airfield surfaces after the late January storm. If the current forecast holds, the team will be at it again later this weekend.
Progress continues on a brand new air traffic control tower here at Martin State Airport.
Our current tower, one of the oldest active air traffic control towers nationwide, dates back to 1942.
Work will be complete later this year.

Our Runway 15โ33 rehabilitation project was recently featured by @AirportImprove.
The project resulted in improvements to not just the runway, but also taxiways, airfield lighting and signage.

We held a groundbreaking ceremony this afternoon to mark the beginning of work on a new air traffic control tower.โจ
The new facility will replace our existing tower, which was built in 1942 and is among the oldest active air traffic control towers in the country.
Exactly one year to go!
June 27 and 28, 2026.
We'll be hosting an open house during Sail250 Maryland & Airshow Baltimore. We'll have aircraft on display, plus the @BlueAngels will perform over Baltimore's Inner Harbor.

Today on #StateEmployeeRecognitionDay, we recognize the nearly 500 employees of the Maryland Aviation Administration.
Our MAA team oversees not only BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport, but also @MartinState and supports regional aviation activities across the state.
Last year's project to rehabilitate our Runway 15-33 is officially an award-winning project.
The project was recognized last week by the Maryland Quality Initiative in the MBE/WBE (Engineering) award category.
