๐จ ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MASAKA WOMAN MP JUSTINE NAMEERE.
Born on April 17, 1989, in Masaka, Justine Nameere rose from a television presenter and lawyer to become the Minister of State for Local Government and Masaka City Woman MP. Daughter of Vincent Ssempijja, she lost her mother at age 12, attended Namugongo Boarding Primary and Kingโs College Budo, then earned a Law degree from Makerere University and a first-class diploma from the Law Development Centre.
She made her name on TV with the award-winning show Life Stories on NTV, later working on Urban TV, Bukedde TV, and Salt TV, though her time at Salt ended in suspension over alleged indiscipline. She also practiced briefly as a court clerk and founded the Voice of the Pearl Foundation to support people with serious health challenges.
Her political journey began in 2015 within the NRM. After early attempts, including a loss in Bukoto East, she won the Masaka City Woman MP seat in 2026 after a highly contentious vote recount that overturned the initial result favoring Rose Nalubowa. Just days after being sworn in, she was arrested by security officers amid tensions around the Speakerโs race and alleged links to Anita Among. She was later released and appointed Minister of State for Local Government by President Museveni in late May 2026.
