Earlier today, alongside the Executive Commissioner, Technical Services, Engr. Abraham Oshadami, the Board Secretary, GT Mohammed, and members of Management and staff of @ngcomcommission, we received a delegation from @meta Nigeria on a courtesy visit.
The engagement provided an opportunity for constructive conversations around the evolving digital ecosystem, innovation, online platforms, and the shared responsibility of building a safer and more inclusive digital environment.
I commended Meta for the scale of work being done across digital connectivity, innovation, and enterprise enablement, while also encouraging greater public engagement around the impact of these efforts. Institutions driving meaningful change must continue to engage openly, build trust, and contribute visibly to national development conversations.
I also emphasised the importance of patriotism and collective responsibility in shaping Nigeria's digital future. As our digital ecosystem continues to expand, sustainable progress will require stronger collaboration between regulators, technology platforms, and all stakeholders committed to national growth.
I thank the Meta team for the visit and the quality of engagement. Today's conversation is a step forward, and we look forward to continuing this dialogue as we work together toward a more connected, innovative, and inclusive Nigeria.
Today, we welcomed the leadership of @ntel to the @ngcomcommission for a courtesy visit and constructive engagement on the future of Nigeria's telecommunications sector. Present were the Executive Commissioner, Technical Services, Engr. Abraham Oshadami; the Board Secretary, GT Mohammed; and members of the Commission's Management and staff.
Our discussions covered industry growth, infrastructure development, service quality, and the role of sustained innovation in delivering value to Nigerian consumers.
I encouraged the NTEL team to rise to the high expectations placed on them, particularly as a Nigerian company operating in a competitive and rapidly evolving sector. The opportunity ahead is significant for operators committed to quality, innovation, and long-term value creation.
I also reiterated that the Commission sees its role as both regulator and enabler, committed to supporting operators and strengthening the broader telecommunications ecosystem.
We took note of the new initiatives the company is preparing to launch, which reflect continued investment and confidence in Nigeria's digital economy.
I also used the occasion to encourage the NTEL team to recognise and appreciate the Commission's internal teams, whose work continues to underpin the stability and growth of the sector.
I thank the NTEL delegation for the visit and look forward to the launch of their new initiatives.
Today, the Nigerian Communications Commission @NgComCommission, in collaboration with the National Judicial Institute, convened a Workshop for Justices and Judges on Legal Issues in Telecommunications.
Themed “Adjudicating the Digital Era: The Judiciary’s Imperative in Connectivity, Infrastructure Protection and Online Safety,” the workshop brought together the Bench and the Communications Industry for important conversations around the evolving legal and regulatory landscape shaping Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.
As connectivity becomes increasingly central to economic activity, governance, security, and daily life, collaboration between the telecommunications sector and the Judiciary remains critical — ensuring that innovation, infrastructure protection, online safety, and consumer rights continue to advance within a stable and well-informed legal framework.
We also took a moment to thank our Judges for their dedicated service to our nation. May God continue to bless them. Amen.
Frazier Tharpe harnessed a pivotal interview so professionally and with empathy.
Jay Z already established his anger and Frazier attentively navigated the questioning to get us the real reason Jay was angry, and in the same interview, got us to understand he is a father to a brilliant, independent young daughter.
But we are here commending an illiterate on the red carpet, disrespecting one of our legends. Smh
Access to free data for learning will have a direct, immediate and long lasting impact on our country.
I’ve written about why zero-rating educational websites is the most urgent and affordable digital policy decision we can make right now.

I have met with a lot of successful Nigerians making the most of their opportunities abroad. Japa has many good stories, do not let any tales of doom abroad fool you.
Whilst some hate to hear or read about it, I have also met more than a few Nigerians who found more success because they returned to Nigeria or indeed moved to Nigeria for the first time.
Japa stories are a dime and a dozen, the Japada stories deserve to be told too. This is why I am looking forward to @mimionalaja and her guests, some of whom you may already know, who are doing extraordinary work here in Nigeria.
If for nothing, they can inspire those who need that little push to make the move of a return to Nigeria, after finding out Japa may not be for them.
