Sec 144 PPC is a bailable offence. If intention was to address security risks then Police could've released all protestors on personal bond. Only reason to detain protestors for hours without a FIR or adding non bailable offences to a FIR is to cause humiliation and intimidation
HRCP demands the immediate release of @Aurat_marchisb organisers and participants, who were arrested earlier today by the Islamabad police. Marking International Women's Day is the legitimate right of all Pakistani women and must be respected by the authorities. Such oppressive measures in the name of maintaining law and order are highly deplorable.
🚨🚨
Sometime it seems @CMShehbaz ruling any other country, on #InternationalWomensDay2026 his Govt arrested dozens of women rights activists and Aurat March organisers in #Islamabad and the gentleman is paying tribute to women like he know no nothing about @drfarzanabari and dozens in women police station right now!
364 days and 76 years of ethnic cleansing and genocide. If you haven't spoken out against this, please stop writing about colonialism and decolonization.
Never become like those spineless and opportunist academics who will “sharpen their pens after the smell of death has dissipated and moral clarity is no longer urgent” (Rabea Eghbariah)
As Pakistan's internet connectivity deteriorates, as firewalls are installed & crucial apps like Fiverr are blocked, as the masses suffer crippling economic constraints, the PML-N chooses to spend tax payer money to showcase their 'IT Revolution' in Times Square. Disgusting.
Dissent is patriotic. Dissent is not terrorism. Happy Independence Day. May we get independence from those who work day & night to steal our rightful freedoms from us. 🇵🇰
I don’t have official figures but by all appearances this may well be the largest women led movement of our time in Pakistan @ the resilience shown by @MahrangBaloch_ and our Baloch sisters is truly extraordinary. Praying for an end to their pain & for the State to see sense.
Many feminists have expressed their support for #BalochRaajiMuchi, but many are also silent. Am honestly wondering why. We've not seen a women-led movement of this scale in Pakistan's history as far as I know. Are certain feminists unaware? Scared? Suspicious? Genuinely wondering
Pakistanis celebrate Bangladesh's recent change as revolution but label Sindhis, Baloch, & Pashtuns as traitors when they demand their rights through movements like One Unit, MRD, language rights, anti-Kalabagh Dam. Why don't they appreciate @MahrangBaloch_'s movement in Gwadar?
Carnage in #Bangladesh. No exaggeration. Tomorrow will be a massacre if effective pressure cannot be put on the government. The world is busy, but in a few days you will be shaking your heads and asking why nobody did anything to stop it. Now is the time to stop it. 🇧🇩
From the Shia and Baloch massacres in Pakistan, to police brutality in Bangladesh, to Zionist crowds demanding the 'right to rape' Palestinian prisoners, to on and on and on and on. This world has gone completely berserk.
From Parachinar to Gwadar, my people are suffering, my country is burning. We are all supposed to go on with our daily lives with so much violence in the background of our lives.
We’re not empathy starved. The whole world empathizes with us. Our people are literally starving. We don’t need Kamala’s nice tone. We need her to open borders to allow food, we need her to stop sending weapons, we need her to end military aid. Also don’t speak for us.
