The 16th Regional Cyberdrill for the Americas has kicked off in Ecuador. At a time when cyber threats are becoming more complex, frequent, and transnational, no country can address these challenges alone. Cyberdrills help strengthen incident response, build trust among CIRT/CERT teams, and improve regional cyber resilience.
My thanks to @mintelnews and @EPNEcuador for hosting us.
I am pleased to announce that I welcomed H.E. Woohyuk Choi, Deputy Minister @msitmedia, and signed a new project document on “Strengthening National Cybersecurity Crisis Management Capabilities,” with the Republic of Korea—marking our 19th partnership and a long-standing collaboration with @ITUDevelopment.
This initiative will support developing countries, including #LDCs, #LLDCs and #SIDS, through:
- National cybersecurity crisis management readiness assessments and development of tailored implementation roadmaps
- Targeted capacity-building programmes for both incident responders and senior decision-makers to strengthen coordinated crisis management
- Delivery of national crisis simulation exercises to test coordination mechanisms and enhance response and decision-making processes.
Supporting countries to better prepare for, respond to, and recover from cyber incidents is a priority. I look forward to continuing this collaboration and deliver impact on the ground.
Last week, we delivered tailored capacity-building support to @INCM_moz to enhance cyber resilience in Mozambique’s telecom sector. Thanks to the support of @CzechMFA, we conducted a telecom Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT) maturity assessment to reinforce incident response and operational readiness.
Bulgaria has been a strong collaborator in bolstering cybersecurity resilience in Europe. The @ITU Cybersecurity Forum and CyberDrill for Europe and the Mediterranean, co-hosted by @mtcBG and @eGovBG, brought together participants from over 30 countries to review strategies, share best practices, and strengthen their ability to respond to today’s cyber threats. #BDT4Impact https://t.co/EHRo1VXXgh
