Seven years ago, on this day, Articles 370 and 35(A) became history, marking a decisive new chapter in the journey of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh.

5th August this year assumes even greater significance as this is the year our nation commemorates the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee. His lifelong commitment to national unity continues to inspire generations. What he envisioned decades ago found historic fulfilment on 5th August 2019.

We reaffirm our commitment to the progress of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh and to ensure that every citizen has the opportunity to dream big, achieve and contribute to the making of a Viksit Bharat.

Speaks a man who comes from southern India where each and every woman is referred as a divine mother, when I initially started to work in south films everyone called me maa and I was hardly 17 years old, I felt so strange but then I noticed that even a 3 year old is called maa there, why such burns Mr Subramanian if young women in this country are not our daughters then what are they? I'm ashamed, I'm angry and honestly, I feel guilty that we've reached a stage where our soldiers are being mocked so casually.

There is something fundamentally wrong with our laws, our civic sense, and our tolerance if this is considered acceptable.

I just hope no such video ever reaches the families of our martyrs or our serving armed forces personnel. They have already sacrificed enough for this nation—they don't deserve to witness this. 🇮🇳
