"Sourland” is an intense retelling of Emily Bronte’s “Wuthering Heights,” taking place 200 years later and 5,000 miles away: 1971 - 2002 on the Sourland Mountain of New Jersey; an analogous experiment in pathologies and societal mindsets, then and now. #pitdark #amquerying

@PAustinHeaton1 Thanks! Now, if only I could get an agent to consider it. Lol. I’m going to check out “Murder at the Stage Door.”

@PAustinHeaton1 My favorite is “Sourland: Wuthering Heights, New Jersey.” I ventured outside of my children’s books to indulge a lifelong obsession with Bronte’s “Wuthering Heights.” How those same personalities, settings, situations, mores would play out today was my goal, finally reached!

[Mary D'Amore @MaryDAmore]

@Sarah_Nicolas Indulging?

[Mary D'Amore @MaryDAmore]

@wendyparciak Yes! I’ve mapped my whole novel onto my neighborhood - the Sourland Mountain of NJ. That way I can “live” in my story every day. Magic!

[Mary D'Amore @MaryDAmore]

@CalltoActivism I was so distracted by Eric’s man-boobs that I didn’t notice anything about Trump.

[Mary D'Amore @MaryDAmore]

@YorkshireBook48 That happened to me right after Musk took over and changed something. I just kept blocking them each time and they have finally stopped. Ick.

@MarjorieBrimer Nothing bothers me when coming from another dear human, even if it’s a gaffe or weird.

[Mary D'Amore @MaryDAmore]

I’m so discouraged that I feel flattered when I receive rejections… they say the nicest things (I’m serious).
Princeton University Press: “a promising manuscript”
Broadview: "your retelling has academic relevance”
Writers House: “many charms”

@atrupar Ah, the legless swastika!

[Mary D'Amore @MaryDAmore]

@AnnetteWhipple Elon’s “swastika” creeps me out. I only want to click on my birdie. :(

[Mary D'Amore @MaryDAmore]

@audreyperrott With me at all times. Love love love. And the kiddie case is the bestest!
