When I am deeply hurt by something someone has done or said, I have to give myself permission to be honest about my feelings. But I don’t have to compound the hurt by reacting out of those feelings.
I don’t want today’s reaction to become tomorrow’s regret.
Your progress doesn't have to be perfect to be powerful. And a setback doesn't mean we should give up.
Let me encourage you tonight: grab some grace and keep going.
Sometimes, we just have to walk through stuff even when we desperately just want to quickly get over it.
But the going through is what will get us on the other side with a greater understanding that God has always and will always be with us.
The best way I’ve found to start recognizing the Lord’s whispers in my heart is by getting into His Word and letting His Word get into me.
The more Scripture I memorize, the more clearly I hear Him.
This!! So many times in life, I feel knowing the "why" would make it all better. Truly, not knowing the "why" causes me to decide if I trust or not... trying to try choose trust more often!!
Sometimes God has to lean in close to my heart full of questions and gently whisper, “You don’t have to have all of the answers, Lysa. You just need to trust.”
Maybe your heart needs that reminder tonight too.
Lord, unrush us today. Show us how to slow down and leave sacred space for relationships. We want to follow Your example of staying focused on connection and compassion. Amen.
What do we do with that gap between where our capabilities end and trusting God begins?
We must pray.
And when it seems we’ve prayed for years and we haven’t yet seen God’s answer? We must remember … God does His best work in the unseen.
The best way to find what my next step should be is to be in God’s Word. I will worry about obedience and let Him worry about the outcomes. (Psalm 119:105)
@augustabulldawg A powerful statement I heard recently, "no amount of tears at a funeral will erase the guilt of not speaking while someone is living"
So glad you had this opportunity!
Unrealistic expectations often lead to our greatest frustrations.
That's why the best place for us to look is always Jesus. He is the answer to our every need. He is our one true source of satisfaction.
Let’s praise God today for who He is … Our God who fulfills His purposes. Our God who saves. Our God whose steadfast love and faithfulness know no end.
