Matthew 22:37-39
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

Burnout reveals something deeper than exhaustion.
We're all longing for freedom.
The gospel reminds us that true freedom isn't found in having fewer responsibilities, but in no longer needing to prove our worth through our performance.
When our identity is secure in Christ, work becomes an offering—not our identity.

I've been losing my mind
To be someone else
It pressures me all the time
I want to be free
Oh God You are my Savior
Save me from this tragedy
I want to be someone you have planned for me
I want to feel the joy of my salvation
Here I am oh God use me
Jesus, You are my Freedom
“‘I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are on the ground, by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and have given it to whom it seemed proper to Me. ”
Jeremiah 27:5
Christianity is far more pessimistic (e.g. its doctrine of sin) and far more optimistic (e.g. its certainty of the new heavens and new earth) than secularism.
“I have loved you with an everlasting love;
therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.” Jeremiah 31:3
This is yours if Jesus Christ is your treasure.
The best way to rest from work is to be so fully satisfied with your work that you can walk away for a time and leave it alone. I found that only when I rest in Jesus' finished work for me can I really rest from my earthly work even for a moment.
The way to find your calling is to look at-- your ability, affinity, and opportunity. What are you good at (that others affirm)? What do you enjoy doing? What doors are open to you?
God is so great that he works out a plan, a plan to work everything out for your good if you belong to him, and his glory, which takes into consideration your choices, and still works his plan out infallibly.

A Christian's identity and self-regard rest in a love we cannot lose, and a beauty put upon us that does not dim. That beauty is legal now (the perfect righteousness of Christ) and will be actual and full later. See C.Hodge, Princeton Sermons, "The Intercession of Christ."
Lord,
I worry because I forget your wisdom.
I resent because I forget your mercy.
I covet because I forget your beauty.
I sin because I forget your holiness.
I fear because I forget your sovereignty.
You always remember me. Help me to remember you.
Amen...
