The first day of school is fast approaching! Over the coming weeks, we’ll share some tips from our educators for parents & students as they prepare for the year ahead. First up, @LezlieDM, M.S.Ed, School Counselor at Burchfield, has some guidance for those beginning kindergarten:
Shaler Area seniors were invited to return to where it all started & visit their primary schools today before commencement. The Class of 2023 shared their favorite memories & future plans with current students & their former teachers. 🎓💙 #WeAreSA#SASD2023
What a rousing Kindergarten send off this morning from our youngest scholars! Thank you to all staff for planning and preparing for this, and most of all, thank you families for sharing your precious children with us!
We're still glowing from 143 Day. We loved seeing so many community members there—& working together. Students from @MarzolfPrimary collaborated with culinary staff from @AWBeattieCC to make cupcakes. Thanks for sharing your expertise for this sweet addition to our celebration.🧁
Today is the final day to cast your ballot for a story written by Lucy B., a first-grader at Marzolf in the @wqed Writers Contest, Write My Future! 🗳 Vote for Lucy here:

What a night for the arts at Marzolf Primary! A scintillating art show and a rousing musical called "The Principal and the Pea!" Thank you Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Joseph, Mrs. Mihalyi and all staff who supported this evening for such a SPLASH performance!
What a beautiful day for a picnic lunch as a final reward for our Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support program. Thank you to our PBIS team for developing a simple, yet incredibly fun idea!
Great evening of SASD parent engagement last night with our annual Title I Parent Training! Dinner, a free book, and some fun learning activities made for a positive evening! Thank you Mrs. Schultz, Mrs. DeAngelo and our entire T1 staff!
One thing is for certain: Some rain won't ever interfere with Marzolf students having fun on Field Day! Thank you to our supportive and creative PTO and our flexible, kid centered staff for making this (wet but fun) day possible!
A favorite end of year lesson: How Big is a Foot? Students estimate how big their feet are, trace and learn to measure with a ruler, then graph results as a class! (My foot was the biggest, though I had a 2nd grade student only 1/2” shorter!!) #WeareSA@ShalerArea#iteachmath
As we close out Autism Acceptance Month, we are still glowing from @MarzolfPrimary’s kindness walk. Our students are putting their best foot forward to support one another!
