I have just been informed by our Great Military that last night the Iranians shot down one of our highly sophisticated Apache Helicopters while patrolling over the Strait of Hormuz. There were two pilots involved, both are safe and uninjured. Nevertheless, the United States must, of necessity, respond to this attack. Thank you for your attention to this matter! 👀 I found something interesting while reading the contracts behind @DeepBookonSui Predict.
Most people think staking $DEEP is just about fee discounts.
But the design appears to be much more nuanced.
According to the source:
- 100k $DEEP stake = ~50% benefit power
- ~1.1M $DEEP stake = maximum benefit power
- Maximum benefit = 50% trading fee discount
But here's the part that caught my attention:
Fee discounts are applied when you trade.
Loss rebates appear to be determined by your ACTIVE stake when you CLAIM.
If that's correct, it creates a very different incentive structure.
A trader could:
1. Trade first
2. Stake $DEEP later
3. Wait for stake activation
4. Claim rebates afterwards
Meaning rebate eligibility may be influenced by claim-time stake, not trade-time stake.
Other details hidden in the contracts:
- 50% of trading fees go into the rebate reserve
- Trading profits offset rebate eligibility
- Full stake can claim up to 100% of eligible rebates
- Builder fees and gas-spike penalties don't count toward rebate calculations
The biggest takeaway?
Predict isn't just another prediction market.
It's introducing an entirely different staking economy around trading behavior.
If this makes it to mainnet unchanged, $DEEP utility could become a lot more interesting than most people realize 👀
