My father died Saturday at the age of 81.
Phillip Mason never trumpeted his attributes. If you said he was perfect or that his life was extraordinary, he’d recoil. Never would he sprain his shoulder by patting himself on the back. But he was a good man, dad & grandpa.
A 🧵:
@MrTomClayton Just keep going! I actually had to do a re-take on part of it when someone walked over with a bright light. He thought he was helping, but the great part about my camera is that it quickly adjusts to low light.
So much to discuss after the Broncos pulled yet another rabbit out of the hat. They defy logic and data, yet they just pulled out their 13th-straight win in a one-score game with Bo Nix at QB:
Bo Nix had an ESPN QBR of 43.7 vs. the Rams.
That's 21st of 30 eligible QBs this week. It also matches Nix's 43.7 season-long QBR, which places him 27th of 30 eligible QBs. He had a 75.7 QBR vs. Jacksonville and 11.8 at Kansas City.
@dillpickle915 The fact that most neutral observers believe the Broncos pulled a fast one is telling, though. At best I think it’s a push-pull play where the officials typically swallow the flag.
Broncos 30, Rams 26 — FINAL
Routed in the 1st half, Denver roared back in the 2nd, tying the game by the end of 3Q and taking the lead in the 4th. D cranked up the pressure late. Rams penalties/miscues helped. Hufanga w/ 67-yard pick-6, game-ending INT. Denver is 2-1. Wow.
Broncos so far this season:
10 points vs. KC
20 points vs. Jacksonville
30 points vs. L.A. Rams
... imagine if they sustain that trend the next two games
A bonkers game, an unlikely win ... my thoughts after the Broncos pulled another rabbit out of the hat in their 30-26 come-from-behind win over the Rams:
#LARvsDEN an instant classic @SNFonNBC
Bill Vinovich officiated the game very poorly IMO
His crew calling too many ticky-tack penalties which ultimately affected the outcome
But great game nonetheless I would take a rematch like that in the Super Bowl #RamsHouse #BroncosCountry
NBC rules analyst Terry McAulay did not believe Rams CB Josh Wallace should have been flagged for pass interference, in what may have otherwise been an interception.
The Broncos went on to score what would serve as the game-winning TD.
The Broncos were outgained by a 482-257 margin in yardage Sunday night.
Heading into Sunday, teams that had allowed at least 475 yards while gaining 275 or fewer yards had lost 20 in a row and 32 of the last 33. (Per @pfref)
Sean McVay ducked out of his press conference before Rams media could get into it, only 10 minutes after the final whistle.
Not sure I have ever seen that in this league before.
The Rams came into tonight with a 33-game winning streak in games they led by 15 or more at halftime.
Their 16-0 lead at halftime is now gone and the third quarter isn't even over.
And the PAT is good. Rams need a touchdown. Forty-seven seconds left. LA has one timeout remaining. Now it’s on the defense to hang on and finish the job.
