Alright, that's my first thread and rant. The best US chants probably aren't the cleverest ones.
They're the ones where someone can hear the first two lines once, laugh, and join in by the second repetition.
What we have circling the internet right now is an embarrassment, its unorganized, and they have no collective momentum. Team USA in most sports has been on a generational roll, and we owe it to ourselves to have better chants.
Use melodies people already know.
The rest takes care of itself. 🇺🇸⚽
Hear me out.
I think it would be pretty easy for Team USA to collectively course-correct on our chants.
Good chants borrow melodies everyone already knows and then replace a few words.
We have a treasure trove of AMERICAN songs and melodies that can easily be turned into chants that actually hit.
The crowd isn't learning a new chant. They're recognizing an existing tune and immediately understanding where the words fit.
🧵
Why these will work:
The crowd isn't memorizing lyrics.
The crowd is recognizing patterns.
A supporter hears the first three notes and thinks:
"I know this song. I know where the words go."
As opposed to:
"Here's a new chant someone wrote."
One requires memory.
The other requires recognition.
Recognition scales to thousands of people.
@uglyrobot Lol 50 plugins pre installed?! This reads like such a poor ad it’s comical. You don’t build in WP for 15 years and then now decide it’s too overwhelming. “No longer can build with it” 😆
@clickup The planner is awesome for scheduling task out for the week. BUT, we need to be able to search for task to place in, instead of hitting "...More" until we find it.
