Did you know some of the concrete on Routes 33 & 5 in Massachusetts was originally paved over 80 years ago?
Talk about built to last!
The FHWA's Mobile Concrete Technology Center (MCTC) recently stopped by the Springfield area to support two pavement rehab projects on concrete originally placed back in the 1940s.
During the visit, the MCTC team gathered field testing data and demonstrated modern concrete technologies to local transportation teams. An open house was held at the MassDOT District 2 office where attendees toured the MCTC mobile lab and checked out state-of-the-art testing equipment firsthand.
Special thanks to @MassDOT for hosting the open house and helping make this visit a success!
