I think the problem is when you have people who have no basic understanding of science thinking that questioning science means “I did my research” or think that science saying one thing today, and something else tomorrow, is a bad thing.

For example: you publicly state that you think you should have chicken for dinner but privately you state that steak may be a good option too. Is conclusion or a suspicion?

Do the words “suspect” and “conclude” carry the same meaning to you?

It literally feels like we’re talking about calculus and you’re talking about addition. It’s not that you’re wrong, you’re an intellectual toddler.

@davidgaw @peterrhague I think we can be reasonable and say this is a grey area, rather than dealing in absolutes. AI isn’t a person, but at the present scale, it isn’t simply acting as a powerful autocomplete either. This seems like a topic worthy of great debate.
