@memeslich DM’ing for my friend group. I had them stumble upon a crying pregnant woman who was closing up their shop at dusk. I had hinted at her losing her husband earlier in the campaign.
So one of my PC’s went “Hey, I’m sorry you’re crying, but whatchu sellin?”
We died laughing.

Well with that, I think I’m going to be deactivating my account on here. It’s unfortunate what’s happening, but I don’t want to be on a website that will allow that content.

Helldivers fans -- we’ve heard your feedback on the Helldivers 2 account linking update. The May 6 update, which would have required Steam and PlayStation Network account linking for new players and for current players beginning May 30, will not be moving forward.
We’re still learning what is best for PC players and your feedback has been invaluable. Thanks again for your continued support of Helldivers 2 and we’ll keep you updated on future plans.
This also has ramifications for games. I do think that current media consumption practices keep people from fully processing and even enjoying games. It becomes checklist completion, racing to credits, rather than relishing in the ride. (Esp when you add in the drive to create content asap) Huge, dense games that could be enjoyed for months are sped through in weekends. Therefore, moments that impede that progress (for my FF7R fans: Gongaga, box throwing, etc) are lamented as bloat or obtuse.
I know we joke that I’m currently in the longest playthrough of #ff7r, but this is why I’m taking my time. And as a result, it’s becoming one of my favorite games, maybe of all time. It’s counter cultural to play slowly, to savor, to actively process. Yet, this is exactly how I learned to play games as a kid, when there were months between buying the next game.
