Relocation has not started yet, but before you apply, know the 3 categories NYSC recognizes:
✅ Marital
✅ Insecurity
✅ Health
Most people apply under Health Grounds.
Let's talk about that one 👇
After my NYSC, I got a job in a small supermarket.
The pay was poor, but I was grateful because my father was the one sending me money for awhile.
One evening, an old man came to buy food. His bill was ₦8,700.
He searched his bag, checked his purse, and counted his money three times.
He was short by just ₦500. The cashier told him to remove some items.
The man quietly picked up a plate of salad and said, "Leave this one."
I don't know why, but something about the way he said it broke me.
Maybe it was because he looked exactly like my Dad.
I paid the ₦500 difference.
The man held my hand and started praying for me.
Then he said something I have never forgotten:
"My daughter, today you saved me from choosing between food and shame."
To me, it was just ₦500 but to him, it was dignity.
A month later, my phone got stolen on a crowded bus. It was the only valuable thing I owned. I was devastated.
As I stood at the bus stop wondering how I would survive, a stranger walked up to me.
He said, "Are you the young lady that helped an old man in the supermarket?"
I was shocked, the old man was his father. The man had pointed at me while he was sitting at the back.
He had told everyone about me. Without asking questions, he handed me an envelope.
Inside was enough money to buy a better phone and still have some left.
That day changed my personality forever.
I realized that kindness is never wasted.
The good you do may disappear from your sight, but it never disappears from the world.
Since then, whenever I have the chance to help someone, I do.
Not because I expect anything back.
But because you never know when someone's hardest day is waiting for your smallest act of kindness.
This was me
I didn’t even wait to finish NYSC, i was serving and doing my one years masters degree.
I was done serving and few months later i was done with my masters and set to start job hunting.
I didn’t get the benefit until after like 2years later. I didn’t regret it at all.
If you hold a 2:2 and you are serving, try to be outstanding and upgrade with even the bare minimum of a year masters degree.
You will thank yourself.
Everything listed here is what feminism in Nigeria is.
Y’all won’t agree but it’s fine.
Every young lady that wants to have a good family won’t join them to be a Nigerian feminist.
END.
Thank you Jesus, Author and Finisher, for what you started, you completed it.
