🇮🇷 Fifteen years ago, we left Iran after watching loved ones jailed or killed, including my English teacher, whose only crime was speaking up.

Six years ago, I grieved for innocent Iranians and Canadians lost on Flight PS752, one of them someone I knew.

I couldn’t attend my father and grandfather’s funerals as my family was threatened by the IRGC because I stood with the Israeli community after October 7 and spoke out with my friend @YegStacey.

Two months ago, my childhood best friend was arrested, then shot and killed by Khamenei’s regime for peacefully demanding his rights.

Today, I am proudly Canadian, and always will be.

But the child I once was is listening closely to the news from Iran… and, for the first time in a long time, feels hope.
