If you do not actively choose a better way, then society, culture, and the general inertia of life will push you into a worse way. The default is distraction, not improvement.
You need to move.
Your body. Your mind. Your projects. Your relationships. Your finances. Because if you don't, you don't stay the same, you slowly decay without realizing it until you reach the point where it's much, much harder to dig back out.
Entropy waits for no one.
The last 4 years have really shocked me to how many people are just completely programmable.
You could light their house on fire and if the TV told them to stay inside they would.
These people are beyond scary. They give power to whoever wields their mind control box. Good or bad. Usually bad.
It's rare to find people who truly listen, not just wait for their chance to speak.
When you come across them, cherish them.
Even better, become of them.
5 reasons I journal and you should too:
• Increasing self-awareness
• Reducing stress and anxiety
• Providing clarity and direction
• Processing emotions and events
• Separating you from your thoughts
I don’t allow myself to fall into that pit anymore.
It’s not that the overwhelming darkness never comes, it does.
But now I can recognize it and not feed it with energy and attention.
Self-sabotage used to be my specialty.
I used to justify every bad decision/consciously missed opportunity by saying: “But I’m hurting, it’s okay.”
It wasn’t okay.
But failing is learning.
In order to master anything, you must fail constantly.
A real mastery is achieved only by people, who love failing over and over.
Drop the school mindset.
Be proud of your failures. Study them. Learn from them.
In school, they teach us not to fail. Failure is discouraged and punished.
Then you enter the real life, and you get slapped in the face by the amount of failure you encounter.
Before doing something challenging, I always feel overwhelmed and anxious.
After I do it, I feel empowered and confident.
Conclusion: Do more uncomfortable things!
Think about how much time you spent today thinking about other people’s lives. Exactly.
Everyone is in their own head. Nobody cares about you as much as you think.
Once you realize this, a whole new world opens up to you.
