@mahersafadii Yeah, it looks "cool". In isolation. But at the end of the day, it's just useless visual noise, a gimmick. Style over substance, but it kinda even fails at that since it often looks downright ugly.
@sren8149@Broke4Books Hey asshole, I live in Prague and there is a crapton of Japanese tourists here and I have yet to see any trying to speak Czech. And yet they are not getting ripped off in restaurants. So kindly go fuck yourself.
The expanding part is caused by an annoying behavior of overlay where it expands to constraints.biggest. Unfortunately to fix this right would be a breaking change that'd break goldens for a lot of people, so we added a specific flag for it https://t.co/5AZVE7q9o3 . Unfortunately there is not a good way of enabling this for root overlay created by navigator.
As for the dialog opening as separate window, that thing is not in a great place right now, mostly because there are some issues how we nest the widget hierarchy. I'm leaning towards reverting that for now.
Sliding sliding windows being crap is irrelevant when discussing AC vs window unit. Also the leak around the gap around hose is much worse than any leak sliding windows may have ffs.
Right now I'm living in a 120 years old building with 120 years old windows that can not be replaced (protected building) so I don't really care about that anyway.
I have a 12000 btu mobile AC. It evaporates the condensation (after 5 days goin full blast during 38C wather the water tank is completely empty). The thing is hot. The compressor is hot. The hose is hot. The area around the AC where it doesn't blow the air is hot. This is pointless conversation.
I lived with a window unit through a pretty harsh NYC summer, now I have mobile AC and if it was possible I'd swap it for window unit in a heartbeat. Much less noisy (compressor being outside), more efficient, no heating elements inside the flat. This conversation is truly absurd.
That's absolute horseshit. It's still radiates heat in the room both from the hose and compressor itself, even if you cool the compressor slightly. You get nothing like that from window unit. And it generates negative pressure unless you have second hose, which none of the european ACs do.
@Xanthopteryx1@alphafox No it doesn't make it "way more efficient". It absolutely won't compensate for the heat generated by condenser and the heat from hose and the negative pressure. This is completely asinine. You clearly have no experience with either of these.
@Xanthopteryx1@alphafox It really seems to be that you have no experience with either mobile AC or window units so this whole conversation is pretty pointless.
