Yesterday, I joined the Board of @NQCLKenya on a site visit of the institution’s land, after a highly productive consultative meeting with Core Built Solutions. @MOH_Kenya is accelerating efforts to build a new facility, towards compliance with @WHO Maturity Level 3 standards.
The National Quality Control Laboratory team had a privilege to engage in a 2-Day training on Root Cause Analysis based on ISO 17025:2017.
The training has been organized by @KENASgoke in collaboration with NQCL.
Great insights from @matendechero at today’s @Amref_Worldwide webinar: NTDs are diseases of poverty. Those who are economically empowered are rarely directly affected.
@matendechero also stressed the importance of effective data use to plan and take decisions towards elimination. He noted a lack of ROI holds back tech breakthroughs in this area, and that it’s almost impossible for countries to achieve economic success while burdened with NTDs.
“Countries cannot achieve sustained economic growth when they are heavily burdened by #NTDs. We must treat NTD control and elimination as an urgent economic priority,” Dr. @matendechero#EscapeTheNeglect
A staggering return on investment. A perfectly realistic strategy available. An overwhelming willingness from across the entire divide… yet the goal still eludes us.
Yes we can, and together, we shall achieve this amazing #NTD elimination objective 🙏🏿
@citizentvkenya Peter's is an inspiring story of a young Kenyan who not only seeks the knowledge and skills, but also has the right attitude for the high calling of medical practice. We are happy to contribute to his noble cause, even if by way of mentorship. @OBurrows
