@pna1977 It's been like this for me since I started teacher training as my kids' school has been following Wyre council term times. Top that: my eldest is at Blackpool Sixth so that means I have to keep 3 different term times in mind all the time!

@GiedreMcmurtrie Sounds great! To keep motivation high in new year 7s, we start the year with algebra using algebra tiles to support students who struggle to understand key concepts. Which strategy are you planning to implement with your year 7s?

@GiedreMcmurtrie Hi. I am intending to carry on with researching what works well. Last year when I was trialling strategies in year 11, I had a higher set. I am still undecided whether I should focus on my Year 11 nurture group or a younger year group for my disciplined inquiry.

Amazing start to the year! I saw a rainbow on my way to work; I spent most of the day with my lovely Year7 form, who I'll keep for 5 years; and had a really good first lesson with my Y11s who were hard work towards the end of the year, so nice surprise 😊 #mathsclassroom
