It is deeply shameful and hurtful that an alcohol bottle was found inside the compound area of mir mohalla hamdania masjid in inder Pulwama. Such an incident has caused immense pain and hurt to the religious sentiments, as alcohol is strictly prohibited in Islam.

We respectfully request the Pulwama Police (@ssppul) to thoroughly investigate this matter and take appropriate action against those responsible.

Furthermore, we humbly request the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir (@OfficeOfLGJandK) Shri @manojsinha_ Ji, and the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir (@CM_JnK) Shri @OmarAbdullah Sahib, to consider introducing a Gujarat based model on alcohol in Kashmir. Under the Gujarat model, alcohol consumption for locals is completely prohibited, while tourists are allowed to consume alcohol only with a proper permit. Wine shops are banned, and only licensed bars are permitted to operate, with alcohol consumption restricted to those premises and not allowed to be taken outside.

Such an initiative can also help preserve the cultural and spiritual identity of Kashmir, which has long been known as the land of Sufis and saints. Therefore, we respectfully request that a similar initiative be considered and implemented in Jammu and Kashmir to safeguard its unique heritage and values.
