Ms. Faircloth’s 2nd grade class is stretching their math skills with the GaDOE Learning Plan, Gummy Worm Stretch! Through hands-on exploration, students are measuring, comparing lengths, & applying their math skills in a fun and engaging way! @DFlowLeads @leela_varian @mrsstimmel

[Anadil Khan @MsKhanEDU]

Math meets art! Our 8th-grade students put their graphing skills to work by turning linear equations into colorful stained-glass designs. Love seeing their creativity come to life!

This just made sense! I love being able to present relevant PD to teachers @HenryCountyBOE Are we asking surface level questions to our students so they stay at lower level cognitive thinking or are we pressing questions to raise the cognitive level? @drhafza @fpratt_eds

[Rabieh Hafza PhD @drhafza]

This is awesome!! @crypticmaestro @Math_HCS Redelivering the @NCTM manipulatives training! @HenryCountyBOE @TermerionMLakes

[WoodlandMiddle_HCS @WMSHCS]

Today, for Content-Based PD, our math Ts enjoyed playing with manipulative that they can embed in their math classrooms. Resources were shared and they are now ready to embark on providing more opportunities for students to be engaged in learning! @Math_HCS @wilkerson_banks

A time was had during our redelivery of the @NCTM PD we attended🎉 I was able to redeliver the PD to my 7th grade @DutchtownMs_HCS ❤️We collaborated, shared strategies, cleared up misconceptions during this hands on experience. @Math_HCS

Collaboration in action! Our 5th-grade team is working together to annotate the Georgia Learning Plan, anticipate student misconceptions, and plan purposeful lessons for the week. Through intentional planning and shared expertise, our teachers are ensuring every lesson is aligned to the Georgia Standards, responsive to student needs, and designed for success! 💙💛🦉

Ms. Martinez used small group time during math to provide targeted instruction and meaningful practice for her third-grade bobcats. Focused support helps every student build confidence and grow! @BethlehemES_HCS @Math_HCS

[Betina Bryant @BetinaBryant]

My math department chair https://t.co/IDQ46zbaCy @DutchtownMs_HCS always understands the assignment when it comes to redelivering mathematics. We attended a PD for NCTM @Math_HCS . She engaged our math teachers is the same hands on experience🎉🎉 Math Teachers ROCK! @NCTM

🧠💡 Who’s doing the thinking?

In response to Dr. Pace’s districtwide challenge to shift the labor of learning to students, Principal McLaughlin challenged our OKE staff to put that vision into action!

Through purposeful questioning, student discourse, and targeted small-group instruction, our teachers provide the guidance while students explore, reason, explain, and justify their thinking. We provide the support. Students own the thinking!

Couldn't be more proud of our Warhawk STEAM Scholars for taking a moment to complete an internship workshop, learn more about college-based internships, meeting new people, growing career interests, stipends, and taking positive risks, and walk away with two internship leads and support documents! Big thank you to Shanelle Williams, a 2026 Tuskegee Borlaug Scholar, who shared her experiences in environmental science, food scarcity, and cosmetic science!

[SeTia Freeman @FreesEdWorld]

Our Teacher of the Year, Ms. Early is doing what great teachers do! They make learning come alive! 🌟 Students explored place value and powers of ten through meaningful, engaging math experiences that made big concepts click. @BethlehemES_HCS @Math_HCS

[Kristi Mathis,Ed.S @KMathisLeads]

Small groups, BIG impact! 🎯 Today, I had the opportunity to serve as a district facilitator for professional learning focused on Small-Group Math Instruction for Kindergarten Student Success. Supporting teachers with intentional, data-driven strategies that meet every learner’s needs—that’s how we move learning forward!

🔍 We searched Google for “Powers of 10 in Action”…and the top result led us straight to OKE’s 5th-grade mathematicians! 🔟⚡

Students discovered patterns, applied place-value reasoning, and explained how multiplying by powers of 10 changes a digit’s value.

The search is over—POWERFUL mathematical thinking lives at OKE!
