makes the identity space so interesting...

Identity isn't the thing.
It's the thing that gets you to the thing.

Your identity is the set of enabling traits
and characteristics that allow you access
or personalized experiences around you
based on the output that you share.

This dance between information you disclose
and responsive experiences you can enjoy
in digital space is moderated by your consent.

Today most of those experiences
take an immense amount of data
and end up storing it in their databases.

That's what creates a lot of risk
when we're collecting
a lot of sensitive information,
storing it in one location,
outside of the consent and control
of the individuals who that data is written about.

Now we can prove things like
the fact that you're over the age of 21
to a website that requires you to be of age
in order to interact with that content.

For example,
in places like the United States,
if you wanna go to the website of a winery,
you need to prove that you're over a certain age.

Those laws have become more restrictive
in places like Australia, in the United Kingdom,
even in the European Union,
requiring businesses that operate websites
and digital content platforms to do things like
collect copies of passports or utility bills
in order to prove age.

Obviously,
these content platforms
were not built as secure databases
for that type of information
from so many different users.

So it's become very costly،
complicated, and risky for them
to operate in compliance with the law
using more traditional methods.

Actually,
there are some platforms in the ْUS
that no longer serve certain states
out of the 50 united states because
the compliance laws are so costly
and complicated for them.

What we've learned through our partnership
and integrations with government organizations
like the European Union, European Commission,
is that we can actually reduce the cost and complexity
of allowing adult content websites
or restricted content websites
to operate in a way that's
safe with the law,
safe for their users,
and not burdensome on their business
that they can no longer operate.

The long answer to that short question is:

Identity is the thing
that gets you to the thing.

Meaning that you as a user...
might interact with the Billions native app,
might interact with some screens inside of an app
through our SDK that open up a camera,
verify that you're a unique human being
inside of that app experience,
but you're likely doing that
to access another application
or an airdrop
or a government content portal.

Think of us as
the doormen,
the bouncers,
the folks who are
welcoming you through the door
when you prove that you have those qualifications.
