🐵🤎 Wow… just WOW, Punch-kun.

He was attacked at 2:32pm, and by 3:17pm — just 45 minutes later — our boy had bounced back and was playing again. 🥺

He’s one hell of a macaque.

Honestly, I don’t think we’ll ever get to witness another macaque quite like Punch. He is incredibly brave and resilient. 🤎

Whether he was hurting or not, he picked himself up and got on with it.

It’s heartbreaking to watch 😔, but at the same time, it shows just how much strength this little boy has.

Punch-kun… you really are one of a kind. 🐵✨🤎

Before anyone says anything — this doesn't make what happened to Punch okay. 💔

Let's remember, he doesn't have a choice.

He has to lick his wounds, get back up and carry on, because no-one is coming to rescue him. 🐵🤎
That resilience is incredible, but it shouldn't be mistaken for proof that he wasn't frightened, hurt or affected by what happened.
Being strong doesn't mean you weren't suffering.

@ichikawa_zoo at this point something has to be done the female monkeys are way too aggressive towards punch. Their babies approach him, he does nothing and gets attacked for no reason. With all the money donated to the Zoo I’m sure it’s something that can be done.
