Uludağ, who was detained yesterday at his home in Ankara and brought to Istanbul, was arrested after his questioning at the Criminal Judgeship of Peace on the accusation of “repeatedly insulting the President.”

After publishing a cartoon picturing the Prophet Muhammad, Turkish cartoon magazine Leman’s office was attacked by a group of protesters. The authorities also launched a legal investigation against the cartoonist and the managers of the magazine.

Photo-journalist Yasin Akgül, a reporter for @AFPphoto, has been arrested by the Criminal Judgeship of Peace on charges of violating the Law on Assemblies and Demonstrations.
He was detained along with six other journos for covering the protests in Istanbul.
