@J_SMITH_ENT Thank you Jason. I loved every minute of it, and I appreciate everything you did to help me.
I couldn’t have been my best me without you. 💪
“Do you feel this vehicle is safe for highway travel?”
“Yes, I do. Yes, I really do. I believe that.”
“You have no functioning gauges.”
“No, not a one. However, the radio still works, funny as that may seem.”
-Former players STILL supporting our school.
-Colleagues showing how you truly can achieve your goals, like running in the Boston Marathon.
-Wearing mustaches in support of mens’ health.
- and last but certainly not least, HECTOR the Trojan!
Gratitude is OVERFLOWING today.
Why am I proud to teach at TBHS?!?
The list is endless; here are a few samples: a thread.
-Chaperoning State 🥎 pep bus - GREAT kids & great support for our programs!
-Holiday dress up days - ❤️ the spirit.
-Seeing former students while on vacay!
Act of Kindness today. We boxed up, loaded, hauled, and unloaded a LOT of nonperishable items for our annual food drive. Somewhere between 60 & 70 boxes. 💪
Had some help from these (& others not shown) amazing StuCo peeps.

What inspires me? When a kid gets it. One of my students puts in the extra work to raise their grade. One of our StuCo kids truly exemplifies leadership. One of my volleyball players works harder & harder to perform at the next level. That’s what inspires me.

Today’s Challenge: post about your “why”
For me, it’s always been seeing kids learn & not hate math class. When a student is able to get it - especially when it was a struggle - I feel a sense of accomplishment that I don’t think I could find in another job.

Today’s challenge has me posting about the uniqueness of TBHS.
I always say that Troy is the littlest big town & the biggest small town around. We have all of the advantages of a small school and a big school rolled into one!

Today's Gratitude Challenge has me posting a video of me telling a student that I appreciate him or her. This is a video from the past, but it is a classic with a former student, Dono. I will have to make a new one today, but this one HAS to go up, too. #TBHSisGRATEFUL2025
To be honest, ALL of my students push me to do better. Not a day goes by that everything went perfect. I’m ALWAYS trying to be better. Until every student masters everything I teach, I can do better.
So, I’m grateful for all of them from the A’s to the F’s.

Today’s Challenge calls for thanking a student who’s always pushing me to be better.
I’m actually posting gratitude for 2 FORMER students who are now colleagues.
Much thanks to Ms. Seago & Mrs. Stanton for pushing me & our StuCo @ TBHS & NGC to be their best!

Today’s Gratitude Challenge has me in a very timely fashion thanking a student for being supremely helpful. Gary garnered the praise of both the sub AND his classmates for being very helpful during my absence Friday!

The TBHS Gratitude challenge continues!
Today, I’m thankful for kids who are ALWAYS willing to step up & help others.
In StuCo, we have a lot - too many to name, tbh - but I will thank our SENIOR officers.
3 years of working with them has been a pleasure!

One of my favorite traditions @TroyBuchananHS is how we recognize students who qualify for State level competitions by parading them behind the band through the building! #TBHSisGrateful2025
For day 4,I’m posting about one of my FAVORITE traditions at TBHS - HOMECOMING!!
I ❤️ how our community comes together to celebrate & show support for our school! The parade, the tailgate, the game, the dance - I love it ALL!! #It’sAGREATtimeto be a Trojan!!

For day 3 of the TBHS Gratitude Challenge, I’m posting a pic of this guy who has ALWAYS had my back! We came into the district together 23 years ago, & “Lumber Matt” has been there for me ever since (& before, tbh). I am proud to call Mr. Summers my friend!
