@nomadicrevery I’ve got a new game for your made up game segment! You each write down three words before checking if the other person has any of the same.
Also, just played your zero questions game with a friend and got the right person after our 8th round #actualwinning
Hi @MrMMarsh I tried to do it with the same class again today and the same problems occurred. It first told them they couldn’t create an account, then told them it already existed but wouldn’t let them sign in. Please help! Want to get the class started on these weekly :)
@SLSingh Hi! I have just tried to set my class up on the parallel maths project and it keeps coming up with either “Something went wrong” or “Email address already exists” (for ALL of them) then doesn’t allow them to use it to log in. Any ideas? Thanks in advance :)
@mathsjem HI! My HoD wants us me to look into getting some new textbooks for KS3 (not "too much" colour/explanation - focusing on lots of practice - with possible online version a plus) Any guidance/suggestions would be most welcome (from anyone)!?
Would recommend trying out the game https://t.co/Ao9NdPCNvG which “gamifys” the book ‘The Elements’ to get students (and teachers - it gets hard!) thinking geometrically.
@adamcreen@mathsjem Thank you for the recommendation. I have seen these before - have evaluations copies coming soon. We need them only for Y7 and Y8. Do you think that 2 and 3 would suffice for low attaining set 7 as well?
This makes me really happy! I blogged about #bcme9 back in October and later encouraged teachers to apply for bursaries. I really hope it helped. As I said in my workshop, events like #bcme9 can inspire, enthuse and transform teachers.

@mathsjem Was definitely worth it. Wish we had time for the whole thing - unfortunate consequence of you being so popular! Haha
QQ(s): do you get your student to take their folders home or do you keep them in the classroom? And do you personally mark anything other than the weekly quiz?
More (possibly too many) take aways from @mathsjem:
1) folders (long time desire to finally trial this year?)
2) quizzes!
3) methods (algebraic division using the grid method)
4) interleaving

Current takeaways from #BCME9 to introduce / implement / fulfil asap:
1) https://t.co/CIeKJF6PZR and top top sets from @SLSingh
2) deliberate practice and https://t.co/JyFzh0Odvo from @mrbartonmaths
3) volunteering for @UKMathsTrust
Already getting excited for ‘Ideas that transformed my teaching’ with @mathsjem - also want to thank you for your recommendation to attend #BCME9 and information on possible funding from @UKMathsTrust
On Monday I ran a 20 minute CPD session on GCSE revision for my colleagues (mainly focused on resources).
Feel free to borrow my slides if they're helpful: https://t.co/2TbAaFQNfF
Links are in the notes section on each slide.

I once had a memorable exchange with an arrogant maths prof, who loudly insisted: “the world fears mathematicians, let’s keep it that way”.
Here’s Bragg absolutely nailing why that prof was wrong. https://t.co/7V5yvgA2fL
