@enjojoyy That’s true. In academia, a lot of scientists don’t start making a decent salary until their 30s, if they’re lucky. It’s a constant grind of writing grants and competing for funding, and when research budgets get cut, people can lose their jobs pretty quickly.
Společnou cenu Učené společnosti a Nadace Experinetia @experientiacz Via Chimica pro vysokoškolské studenty za originální práci v oboru chemie získal Matěj Červenka z VŠCHT Praha a z Ústavu organické chemie a biochemie AV ČR.
A student at @VSCHT, who works in Pavel Jungwirth’s group at our institute, focused his research on so-called cation-π interactions—intermolecular forces that play an important role in the reading of genetic information, the functioning of membrane proteins, and receptors in the brain.
🏆 Congratulations to Matěj Červenka from @IOCBPrague, who received the 2026 Via Chimica Award from @experientiacz for his research on cation–π interactions - subtle forces that help stabilize proteins in membranes, shape DNA behavior, and influence receptor function.
