@shaylarz @JackieSarahB The problem is a lot of people on SNAP benefits don’t know how to budget or handle their finances. When artificial nails, the newest iphone, etc are a higher priority than living expenses, that’s when people take issue!

Would a ban on deferred contracts and adding a floor not eliminate the significant disparity in MLB? Without deferred contracts, ownership would have to have that money in-hand instead of kicking it down the road. I doubt these changes would upset players like a cap will either.

MLB organizations have significant costs outside of player payroll, including front office expenses, marketing, operations, and player development. Not to mention travel, facility maintenance, insurance, legal fees, and league fees and royalties.

@TAT1SSZN There are substantial expenses to run a club outside of payroll. They see that revenue figure and assume that’s all profit when that’s absolutely not true at all.
