Judge Rita Kaushik - first name in his suicide note never faced ANY ENQUIRY WHATSOEVER & later got promoted as well. Supreme Court never took cognizance even to investigate corruption despite a dying declaration

Nikita Singhania's right to livelihood was never taken away. Not for a day

First date given in trial of his case by the court was ONE YEAR AFTER THE FIRST HEARING

His wife has moved High Court to quash the case

I will not be surprised if it is even quashed because - There's no concept in India to criminalize mental cruelty by wife

Our system questions men who take their own life calling them weak, sensitive and overreacting

Compare it all to what we are seeing in media for last one week

I am sure Justice will be done to Twisha. I can not even hope if Justice would ever be done to Atul.

Wife of Atul Subhash is still in Accenture though she's also an accused in abetment to suicide case.

Judge Rita Kaushik got a promotion though she was first person named in Atul Subhash suicide note.

Do they not deserve justice ?

History often speaks of wars, but stays silent about what happened behind closed doors.

In the 1930s and 1940s, soldiers of the British Indian Army were taken to military testing programs linked to Porton Down.

Inside controlled gas chambers in Rawalpindi, Indian Army soldiers were exposed to mustard gas.

Not in battle.

In experiments.

They were made to stand inside sealed chambers wearing minimal clothing so the effects on skin, eyes, and lungs could be studied.

What they endured was not warfare—it was observation.

Hundreds were exposed.

Many suffered severe burns. Many developed long-term respiratory and eye damage. Some were hospitalized for weeks.

Consent was not truly informed. Within the structure of colonial military authority, refusal was not realistically possible.

For years, this remained hidden from public view.

Later reporting, including by The Guardian, brought fragments of this truth into light.

This was not a battlefield.

This was controlled human experimentation done in the name of research.

And the people inside those chambers were Indian Army soldiers who had no real choice in what they were part of.

Some parts of history are not meant to give chills.

They are meant to leave you with silence.

Air India confirms that flight AI171, from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, was involved in an accident today after take-off.

The flight, which departed from Ahmedabad at 1338 hrs, was carrying 242 passengers and crew members on board the Boeing 787-8 aircraft. Of these, 169 are Indian nationals, 53 are British nationals, 1 Canadian national and 7 Portuguese nationals.

The injured are being taken to the nearest hospitals.

We have also set up a dedicated passenger hotline number 1800 5691 444 to provide more information.

Air India is giving its full cooperation to the authorities investigating this incident.

-98-year-old Chatri Ram Sain told me when I visited an all-Nai village yesterday

In this village near Delhi, home to 60 Nai jaati families, Chatri Ram’s nephew Anil has taken a lead in raising 30 barbers for salon industry. Most youths are presently engaged in menial jobs or agriculture.

Chatri Ram said he heard from his baap-dada how a large number of Nais converted to Islam during Aurangzeb’s time. They were called hajjam (Arabic word).

Today, Hajjams claim foreign race and Arab ancestry and have adopted the surname Salmani to suggest they came with Hazrat Salman, barber to the founder of Islam.

With favourable rulers and large numbers, they went on to dominate the profession while Hindu Nais were pushed to menial work. When the salon industry boomed, Nais were left behind, he said

Traditionally, Nais not only cut hair or shaved but also acted as matchmakers. Hajjams do the same, and additionally do khatna as well.

I must add that Chatri Ram, born in 1927, walks and speaks with such clarity that when I whispered to his grandson - ‘Is he really 98?’ - he snapped back, laughing - ‘Check tehsildar’s records. I was among the first six to settle in this land when it was jungle in 1935!’
