@Garv17@97to29@ZakTheOilersFan Malkin was certainly something special for a bit! Was very impressed how he stepped up during Crosby’s concussion years. That being said it’s also too bad Malkin has had his own fair share of injury problems 👎.
@ZSabres1970@97to29@ZakTheOilersFan By a slim margin sure? 🤔 playoff performance would probably be the biggest tipping point for me. That being said, 1V1 trade and an 82 game season rolls/teams reversed I wouldn’t be surprised to think the opposite. (Hypotheticals are fun)
@FRASERARNOLD1@ZakTheOilersFan As per Google A.I : Draisaitl has 51 points (16 goals, 35 assists) in 50 career games without McDavid. Good 84 pace. Not the 100+ points Matthews has clipped at. I guess thank you for proving my theory! 100%
@DJRB2006@ZakTheOilersFan Oh for sure he is! Even though Toronto fans seem to want to run him out of town lol. (He still isn’t McDavid). Both teams have had amazing power plays, no question there. I think Dri’s playoff performance is probably the biggest thing to go off of.
@Garv17@97to29@ZakTheOilersFan I certainly would! More interesting would be who would one compare Malkin with at the time? Certainly not Ovi as pure winger? 🤔. Was also never big on the Crosby vs Ovi talk back in the day either. Prime Crosby >>>
@DJRB2006@ZakTheOilersFan True! That is still 50% of games. (Not including icings.) Matthews still has 0% games with McDavid as a teammate or a factor for the other team.
@FRASERARNOLD1@ZakTheOilersFan Idk what “nice try” would come from. Asking an honest question if it’s a fair comparison. McDavid gets top pairing D against him all night long. So does Matthews. Would honestly love to know accumulated 82 game stats of Dri without McDavid in the lineup! 🤔
