@NeumologiaPeru 4.59mg/kg/day of prednisolone equivalent‽ so a 70kg male was getting the equivalent to 300mg / day of Pred? Is this a typo? Or is this a standard approach elsewhere.
@glurcher@scrivvyfloor@dr_lungs @sh_abbers @dannyjnwong@pcricoarytenoid@ABarotchi1 Fewer drains are done. More are done as outpatients, e.g. IPCs. Effusion interventions now mandate US guidance. And change in pneumothorax guidelines advocate conservative management or ambulatory valves. Many reasons that this isn’t a core skill for all medical SHOs.
@ElshadKarbasi Surely you’re describing a scenario in which the FY2 needs to better supported and we need to improve care for these patients in GS. As opposed to just saying admit to medics.
@hannahmillana It’s a great option. (ST7ICU/Resp)
And both tracks offer something different.
Now compulsory to also do GIM which may change things.
Biggest issue with ACCS IMO is small numbers. Moving departments. So not the same long term team. But both good options.
