Creo que existe una ENORME oportunidad de aprovechar décadas de valor nostálgico que los fans tienen con la franquicia.

La misma locura que originalmente impulsó a Pokémon a la cultura mainstream vive dentro de millones de adultos que añoran la sensación que ofrecían los juegos originales.

Cada 2 o 3 años me encuentro retomando un Game Boy y volviendo a jugar Pokémon Rojo/Azul/Cristal/Oro en los cartuchos originales, derrotando al Alto Mando con la misma alegría que sentía cuando era niño. Es un ciclo que se ha repetido durante los últimos 15 años de mi vida. Admito, sin embargo, que no tengo tanta conexión con los Pokémon más nuevos, aunque Annihilape y Baxcalibur se han ganado mi corazón, jaja.

ASÍ QUE, creo que The Pokémon Company debería crear un juego remasterizado inspirado en los clásicos, que conserve los gráficos originales en píxeles, combine las mejores generaciones de Pokémon e introduzca NPCs adaptativos que evolucionen junto al jugador.

Vibras de la vieja escuela impulsadas por tecnología moderna, que permitan a los jugadores conectarse a internet para facilitar los intercambios y combates, contenido descargable, etc.

Esto lograría tres cosas:
1.Darles a los fans veteranos la oportunidad de revivir su infancia, despertando así a un enorme público dormido.
2.Darles a los fans nuevos y más jóvenes una probada de lo que originalmente hizo tan especial a la franquicia.
3.Cerrar la brecha para los fans mayores que no conectan con los Pokémon más recientes, de una manera que les resulte familiar.

Si creemos que los ciclos de los videojuegos funcionan como un péndulo, el futuro cercano del gaming podría generar un deseo por estéticas más simplificadas y basadas en bloques. Ya lo estamos viendo con juegos como Minecraft y Roblox. A medida que la tecnología avanza a un ritmo alarmantemente rápido, personalmente creo que el futuro se inclinará hacia lo “retro”.

Con más de 30 millones de copias de Pokémon Rojo y Azul vendidas en los años 90, Pokémon puede ofrecer una experiencia para fans acérrimos de todas las edades de una manera que ninguna otra compañía puede.”
