Hikvision is part owned by the PRC & supplies 60% of UK public bodies w CCTV cameras. Cameras from Hikvision & Dahua are in 73% of local authorities, 35% of police forces, and 63% of schools in the UK. This is a huge problem which no one is talking about. https://t.co/wEJbOEBavB
I’m loving this sort of thing.
For years, Russia has been yelling about “Ukrainian Nazis,” the “Kyiv junta,” the “protection of the people of Donbas,” the “NATO threat,” and “we didn’t start this war, Ukraine attacked us.”
And then, as if nothing happened, Russian officials openly and publicly threaten Armenia with a “Ukrainian scenario” if its pro-Western government, which has been confidently re-elected, continues moving closer to the European Union and European countries.
Only final dismantling (due to #decolonization & #deimperialization) of so-called "Russian Federation" and full independence for all 41 independent states of #PostRussianSpaces💪
p.s. example of the collapse of #USSR🤮 was best thing that happened in second part of XX century, not only to all of its citizens (except for a few percent of the "beneficiaries" of the late Soviet era, represented by the nomenklatura🤮, #KGB🤮🤮🤮, Komsomol members🤮, "military pensioners"🤮, "internationalist soldiers"🤮🤮🤮, "profsous leaders"🤡 & other "red castes"), not only to all of its neighbors, but also to the entire world, globally💯

Subtle yet crucial messages that I fully agree with, notably this one.
"The final London Declaration (1941) was not about ending a war. It was about uniting those willing to win it and shape the peace that followed.
One can only hope today’s meeting is guided by the same logic."
I’m always a little bemused by the narrative that Americans are brought up hating Russia. The Cold War is over, and for the most part, it’s simply the subject of a kind of Orientalism and stereotypes of badass putin on horseback, literature, the “mysterious soul” and all that.⬇️

”Last year almost 500 000 Russian tourists were let into Europe, while Ukrainians were dying on the battlefield. This situation needs to be stopped.
That is why we, together with 10 other Member States, have put forward an initiative for new EU visa restrictions for Russian citizens.” @JohanForssell at JHA
What @KoeppelRoger calls a duel: swallowing Kremlin bullshit whole, then asking for seconds.
(I mean, even TASS would push back on Solovyov's numbers (https://t.co/zg7eFb8xTy)).
"The front line today is the line from which diplomacy must begin"
This line is beautifully written, but it seems bizarrely clumsy.
I'm extremely curious as to what @ZelenskyyUa and his team tried to say with this.
My God, what a letter!
Of course, Putin won’t understand a word of what President @ZelenskyyUa has written. He’s incapable of understanding anything—except perhaps this:
“You, too, will have to fight much harder for your own existence—not Russia’s, but your own.”
It will happen.
BAD SCENARIO:
- Ukraine joins NATO.
- Russia loses the war.
- Growing security threats to Russia.
- Moscow loses influence over post-Soviet states.
- New regional conflicts and a decline in Russian sovereignty.
Question parfaite et parfaitement argumentée d'@ArthurDelaporte.

BREAKING. The Russian government has just announced that I have been added to their sanctions list for my work exposing their sanctions evading cryptocurrency A7A5. In doing so, I have exposed their Achilles’ heel. Without A7A5 they would not be able to fund their war of aggression. I have been sanctioned alongside Washington Post reporter @catherinebelton and 3 other UK nationals. It’s a badge of honour.

After every Russian escalation into a NATO country we hear leaders repeating the mantra "We stand with..."
But we could do much more than standing around.
For example — we could create a European-Ukrainian defense union. Fund it with confiscated Russian frozen assets. Close the skies in Ukraine, making Ukraine and other frontline states safer.
These things are very possible and this work could start today.
Instead, I am sadly reminded of how Britain and France “stood with” Poland in 1939 while that country was being dismembered. It was called the Phony War, because mere declarations of “support” mean very little on the ground, and do nothing to prevent real war.
Actions always speak louder than words, and usually cost much less than inaction.
Pitoyable.
