Excited to share my new story in @connecticutmag: I went to Danbury to capture the spirit of the local pro hockey culture that was made famous by Netflix. https://t.co/lG7MWNhLnV
I worked in the magazine industry for a long time, and my mind is still messed up from it. Among other things, I’m panicking about September when it’s only April 17th.
Heroic pizza man Louie Suljovic is like a character out of Death Wish. I was at the pizzeria on Saturday to interview him about the knife-wielding man he stopped from causing havoc in his shop. A couple hours after our interview, Louie got into action again stopping a hit-and-run driver.

For the New York Post, I wrote about the untimely death of Peter Gianatiempo, a retired NYPD detective, 9/11 responder and hockey coach who advocated tirelessly to promote adaptive hockey for individuals with disabilities.

@arielhelwani@tgerbasi I just ran into Tom on the Sunday before he died at Vincent’s clam bar on Long Island. He was one of the best guys I ever knew in any capacity. He was a close friend and confident to me for way over a decade. I’ll think of him every day.
I saw Tom on Sunday at Vincent’s Clam Bar on Long Island, having dinner with his wife. He refused my handsake and instead went in for a hug. He was in great spirits and excited about his adult soccer game later that night. Tom had a huge heart and to have an audience with him was a special blessing. I’ll never be the same.
I’m devasted by the death of my close friend and longtime confidant, @tgerbasi. In addition to being one of the all-time most prolific combat sports jorunalists, Thomas Gerbasi was one of the most beautiful people I ever knew. I literally just saw him on Sunday at Vincent’s Clam Bar on Long Island. I won’t ever be the same.
It was so humbling to begin teaching on campus in the Department of English at Queensborough Community College today, on what would have been my father’s 78th birthday. Here is a photo of Pop with Edmund Volpe, the late president emeritus of the College of Staten Island

I spent two months reporting on rowdy boat and jet ski parties in and around City Island for the New York Post. People on both sides of the argument had a lot to say and gave me rare access. https://t.co/SLJPZykQPR

Congratulations on a legendary career #JeremyLin. Besides being an NBA Champion, you are one of the greatest stories in #Knicks history and you made the Nets entertaining during your time in Brooklyn. Thanks for taking this pic with me. @JLin7
In May I wrote about a missing security guard and stolen platinum for @PopMech Now the Pennsylvania State Police are offering a $5,000 reward in the case. Might not be connected but good news all the same. https://t.co/YJJj5VEdQI
For the New York Post, I spoke to former Dickey’s Barbecue Pit owners on Long Island who say they were misled by the company with claims of sweet profits that turned out to be all smoke and mirrors.
