Capitalism has raised literally billions of people out of poverty
It is the only system ever devised where you are directly incentivized to make life better for strangers.
This is incontrovertible.
Technologists and capitalists have saved literally billions of lives and improved the standard of living across the board, even as population has grown massively.
Imagine telling someone in 1999…
The year is 2026.
The President is Donald Trump in his second non consecutive term.
The richest man in the world is PayPal cofounder Elon Musk… but not because of fintech or Paypal. Because of rockets, electric cars, AI, satellites, brain chips and something called “Boring Company”.
Apple is worth trillions but its main business isn’t computers… its selling glass rectangles everyone stares at for 9 hours a day.
People don’t watch TV. They watch teenagers explain geopolitics, finance, and relationship advice in ~60 second videos.
The biggest taxi company owns no taxis.
The biggest hotel company owns no hotels.
The most powerful media companies are social networks where everyone argues with strangers for free.
Kids are making millions filming themselves playing video games.
AI Robots write emails, code, legal memos, songs, essays, and breakup texts.
The internet is mostly bots arguing with humans who are trying to prove they aren’t bots.
You can summon a car, groceries, a doctor, a date, a private jet, or a dog walker from your phone.
People pay real money for invisible currencies, digital monkeys, AI girlfriends and pictures that disappear after 24 hours.
The richest companies in the world don’t sell oil, steel, or cars. They sell attention, compute, data, and addiction.
And somehow, after all of that everyone is still using Excel.
Let me be crystal clear about what the Texas Democrat Party has become. They are not Democrats. They are full-blown COMMUNISTS masquerading behind a blue donkey. Look at their keynote speakers in Corpus Christi:
🔴 Zohran Mamdani — NYC's socialist mayor who wants to seize property and redistribute it
🔴 Bernie Sanders — The senator who honeymooned in the Soviet Union and still defends Castro's Cuba
🔴 AOC — The queen of the Green New Deal who wants government control of every industry
🔴 And James Talarico — the Texas Senate nominee who says "God is nonbinary," believes in six genders, and wants your kids taught DEI instead of ABCs
This isn't a political party. This is a Marxist convention wearing cowboy boots. They ALL want your guns. Your property, and our kids' minds.
Texas Democrats don't exist anymore. The Communist Party of Texas is holding their convention in Corpus Christi, and it’s on full display. End them in November.
The Housing bill is full of big government garbage & spending. Yet the @HouseGOP is going to muscle it through with democrats tomorrow over conservative opposition. Just a few of its sins:
1. Rep Tlaib’s Sec. 207 (H.R. 6768), which is a $200 million affordable housing pilot program to incentivize dense subsidized ‘affordable housing’ units.
2. Sec. 101: ‘reforms’ housing counseling agencies (HCAs) to provide rental dispute services to bad tenants facing lawful eviction. There is no reason we should be providing government-funded counselors to help people derail lawful evictions.
3. Sec. 106: establishes an eviction helpline program. For the same reasons as above, we should not subsidize the derailing of lawful eviction process for bad tenants.
4. A three-year authorization (with a ‘sense of Congress’ that it should be extended permanently) of the controversial Community Development Block Grant Disaster Relief (CDBG-DR) program. The program is controversial because its dispersement has been seriously flawed in the past - payments have taken years to be made, and the allocations have overwhelmingly gone to dense metro areas, ignoring rural communities... it should be scrapped entirely, and disaster repair payments should only be done by FEMA.
5. Indefinitely reauthorizes the HOME grant program and significantly expands the criteria for eligibility.
6. 7-year authorization of what had been an original Senate Pilot program to the Preservation and Reinvestment Initiative for Community Enhancement (PRICE) which authorizes HUD to provide grants to grantees like NGOs, government agencies, and other organizations to purchase trailer parks, on the condition that they charge “affordable” rent.
7. RAD Program: Authorizes the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program reauthorization (which the house removed) and increases the cap to 100,000 units. This program is terrible as it provides vouchers for localities to raise money to convert units into long-term section 8 housing.
8. Does nothing to limit Foreign Ownership: Similar to Rep. Stuebe’s amendment to the farm bill on FCOC and FEOC bans on agricultural land purchases, language should have been included for aforeign adversary ban on housing stock purchases… there is no language prohibiting a Chinese citizen or company from buying an American single-family home.
9. Does nothing to 1) Make Sanctuary jurisdictions ineligible for housing grant funding. 2) or Codify Trump’s ‘Mixed Status’ rule, which prohibits the prorating of housing welfare and benefits to households with illegal or ineligible alien residents.
10. Keeps Eviction Moratorium: Included in the CARES Act, was a 30-day eviction moratorium. While most of the CARES Act sunsetted or has been repealed post-COVID, this provision remains on the books.
Elon Musk just proved that ownership in America is a legal fiction.
Musk: “You get taxed on what you earn, you get taxed on what you buy, and you get taxed on what you own.”
Think about what property tax actually means.
You worked for decades. Paid it off in full. The deed is in your name.
Stop paying the government its annual fee. Watch them take it and sell it to someone who will.
You never owned that house. You were leasing it from an entity you never signed a contract with.
Income tax tells the same truth in softer packaging.
The government does not take a portion of your earnings. They decide how much of your own labor you are permitted to keep.
That is not semantics. It is a confession of who the system believes your time belongs to first.
Sales tax buries itself in the receipt. Two people exchange value voluntarily. A third party who contributed nothing takes a cut simply for allowing it to happen.
Now stack all three.
Taxed when you create. Taxed when you spend. Taxed when you hold. Taxed again when you die and try to pass it to your children.
At no point in that cycle does the system recognize your output as yours.
Because money is not an abstraction. It is crystallized human lifespan.
Every dollar taxed is an hour you already lived, already bled for, already gone.
The state is not managing an economy. It is claiming dominion over time you will never get back.
And spending it on systems you never asked for and actively oppose.
The institution extracting all of it faces zero obligation to perform. A contractor who delivers nothing gets fired. A bureaucracy that burns through trillions gets a budget increase the next fiscal year.
SpaceX pays taxes to the agencies that obstruct its launches. Tesla funds the regulators drafting rules to shield its competitors.
The builders are not subsidizing government. They are financing their own friction.
The tax code is 74,000 pages long. Not because the economy demands it. Because the extraction had to be buried in enough complexity that you would stop asking who it was designed to protect.
The past belonged to the people who taxed the world.
The future belongs to the people who build it.
Senator you are not being truthful as you foment class-war and angst among the uninformed (translate: your voters).
GO SEIZE 100% of Elon Musk's wealth ($1.2T - $1.4T at the moment) and it wouldn't cover government spending for 3 months. You are spending approx. $7.3T in 2026 year while collecting $5.6T! Elon's total wealth would not even cover that $1.7T gap. YOU OWN IT. Go back to day trading on inside info...
I love Texas, and in my mind, being Texan is the most American any American can be in heart and soul. Yet I’m terrified by what I witnessed these past two days at the GOP convention in Houston.
Some people showed weak European tendencies, and I mean that in the sense that they’re beating around the bush like cowards. Too many people seem terrified to speak plainly about Islam as Islam.
Some absurd idea that Sharia is separate from the ideology and doctrine that is Islam has washed over the state of Texas. You cannot separate Sharia and Islam, they are one. I’m sure all Christians would object to separating the Ten Commandments from Christianity.
No peaceful religion needs a propaganda apparatus to tell you they are peaceful. Islam does, because it’s none of those things.
What happened to free speech, to truth, to raw honesty? Since when did Americans become afraid to stand up for their own cause?
Do as Europeans and become as Europeans. I urge you to stand tall, speak loud and clear, and don’t let anyone groom you to get involved in the homicidal virtue signalling cult.
For God sake.
@tetsuoai@pmarca Plus the inequality and wealth seems to be more because of government fraud, waste and abuse and the lack of a good FTC shutting down mergers more than anything.

As a Japanese, I can't wrap my head around what's happening in the UK.
Hundreds of thousands of young girls raped by grooming gangs.
Fathers who reported it got arrested.
Citizens told to stay quiet.
If this happened here in Japan, it would already be a civil war.
Why isn't the British military staging a coup? What are they even doing?
This makes absolutely no sense to us. Can any British person explain this madness?
the engineer who built Claude Code just dropped a 28-minute video on how to write prompts that actually work
I've seen $300 courses that don't cover what he shows in the first 10 minutes
CLAUDE.md files, memory shortcuts, parallel sessions, prompting patterns
all in one video and completely free
after watching this, the next step is agents
I wrote a full guide on how to build one yourself with Claude Code

Marc Andreessen just explained how the United States assassinated its own future.
In the 1970s, the Nixon administration launched something called Project Independence.
The mandate was absolute.
Andreessen: “Build a thousand new civilian nuclear power plants in the US by the year 2000.”
One thousand reactors. Unlimited, carbon-free baseload power. Enough electricity to move the entire country to electric vehicles four decades ahead of everyone else.
But it went further than energy.
Andreessen: “It’s called Project Independence because it means the US won’t have to be involved in the Middle East anymore, because we won’t need the oil.”
No oil dependence. No Gulf Wars. No generations of soldiers stationed in deserts protecting supply chains that never needed to exist.
A complete strategic withdrawal from the Middle East. Permanent.
And none of this was hypothetical.
Andreessen: “France ran for a long time almost entirely on nuclear power. Japan ran for a long time almost entirely on nuclear power.”
Other nations proved it worked at scale. America had more capital, more engineers, and more ambition than all of them.
Andreessen: “How many nuclear power plants were built out of the thousand? Rounds to zero.”
Zero.
Not because the physics failed. Not because something superior replaced it.
Because the same administration that drafted the blueprint for unlimited energy also created the institution that killed it.
Andreessen: “They never got built because the Nixon administration also created the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, which made it its purpose in life is to stop nuclear power plants from getting built.”
Same government. Same decade. Same pen.
One directive launching the most ambitious energy program in American history.
Another creating the bureaucracy that would quietly dismantle it from the inside.
Andreessen: “The Nuclear Regulatory Commission did not approve a new nuclear plant design for 40 years.”
Forty years of zero approved designs. Not because no one submitted them. Because the institution built to regulate nuclear energy became the institution built to prevent it.
That’s not oversight.
That’s abolition dressed as due diligence.
We spent the next fifty years fighting wars in the desert for a resource we never needed.
Choked the atmosphere with carbon we didn’t have to burn.
Terrified an entire generation with the illusion of scarcity.
And the entire time, the physics already worked.
The government didn’t fail to navigate the energy crisis.
They took the densest source of energy in the universe and drowned it in paperwork.
Every war fought for oil. Every carbon debate. Every geopolitical crisis of the last half century.
All of it was a policy choice.
We didn’t lack the technology to power the future.
We let a committee outlaw the math.
“I am Muslim” is analogous with “I am American,” not with “I am Christian.” If you don’t understand this, you will never understand what is actually going on.
“I am Muslim” means I am a citizen of the ummah, the Islamic state that lost its territory to infidel Arab puppet leaders, the Zionists, and the Christians, and that empire must be restored.
“I am Palestinian” means I am Muslim. The term “Palestinian” was invented to mask “Muslim,” because the religious war needed a secular label.
In this framework, saying “I am Palestinian” means “I am Muslim,” and that Jews can't take what is believed to be Allah’s land.
Demanding Sharia law in the West means replacing the constitution of the infidel government and establishing the Islamic constitution, essentially occupying the land or restoring it under the rule of Allah.
Saying, “I am a Muslim and I want Sharia law,” means: I am a citizen of a foreign state, and I want my constitution to replace your constitution.
The UAE banning the Muslim Brotherhood is, in effect, the infidel government of the UAE banning the political activism of a foreign state, Islam, on its territory.
