I'm honored that I've just been endorsed by Gov. @AndyBeshearKY. As a former prosecutor myself, receiving the endorsement of our Governor and former Attorney General means the world to me.
We want to make sure all voters have the time to vote if their plans were disrupted by unexpected tech issues this morning. Call or send an email so they can ensure your voice is heard:
If you had to leave the polls today without voting, and you will not be able to return to vote today later— we need to talk to you. Email us at [email protected], message us here or call us at 502-582-1999. We are working on holding the polls open later.
This seems like a fair remedy for folks that had to abandon their plans to vote before work or dropping off their kids. We know everyone is working to remedy the delays, so please go vote!
JUST. IN: MAYOR: KEEP POLLS OPEN LONGER TODAY. Earlier Computer shutdown has Craig Greenberg asking Jeff Co Clerk to EXTEND VOTING HOURS. @KYSecState@WHAS11
@WHAS11Doug@KYSecState@WHAS11 Lines still seem to be backed up in many places. We know the situation is being addressed, but for many folks who made plans this morning and had to leave, we are worried they’ll need more time (at no fault of their own).
Please report at the link if you or someone you know could not vote today or had very long lines. We are still hearing of polling places that are runnign at 1-2 hours because of the polling books rebooting. https://t.co/eARbxcHfnu
Good to hear, but the delays have persisted long enough to cause concern. Grateful for the folks working to remedy the issues. That said, voters who made the time this morning should get more time if they had to leave.
☑️🗳JUST IN: VOTING RESUMES.
From Michon Lindstrom KY Secy of State office, "I'm being told by ES&S the issue has been resolved. Delay caused by the epoll books not being backed up early enough to be ready at 6am. Only affected Jefferson Co. Lines are moving"
@KYSecState@WHAS11
🗳☑️ Computer issues causing massive back ups across Louisville voting locations.
Update from my friend who tried to vote at Springdale Church:
"Gave up but just passed Norton elementary and it's nuts..200 people snaked in parking lot." @WHAS11
We’re well past 8:30 and reports of delays are still persisting (again, please stay in line!) For many of these locations, voters who left will need additional time to come back. We need to ensure everyone seeking to vote is able to vote.
Jefferson County voters: we are aware of the delay in getting e-pollbooks up and running in some voting locations. We expect them all to be fully operable by 8:30am.
We’re hearing the same reports (Springdale Church serves Precinct S128 in District 16). We know officials are working to speed things up, and don’t want voters discouraged:
JUST IN: Friend of mine standing in line out the door at Springdale Church in Louisville due to delay, being told by workers there that "computers shut down " @WHAS11
Folks, hang in there! Know that poll workers are doing everything possible to keep lines moving and voters voting. Let us know if you experience any ongoing issues we need to pass along to @KYSecState or others. It’s a beautiful morning to vote!
Today is Election Day 🗳! This is #OurGoldenOpportunity to chart a new path forward for District 16 and Louisville ⚜️ - Polls are open 6 AM to 6 PM.

Lines are long this morning - great to see the energy: be patient, be kind, and if you need any assistance throughout the day making your plan to vote, let us know!
Along the way it so affirming to realize the goodness of people and their belief in our city.
So, in this minute, I am thankful.
Like I said at the beginning, I don’t know what tomorrow is going to bring, but I certainly hope it brings you to the polls.

I feel gratitude for the hundreds of folks that contributed to my campaign and humbled me, and the thousands of people who opened their door and decided to talk to us as we canvassed every precinct and every neighborhood.
