#SpiderManBrandNewDay - Spoiler-free thoughts:
Functional, livened up with funny lines along the way.
MJ and Ned are used well. I'm glad these likeable characters are still in the mix. Frank fits too (I've yet to watch all of #Daredevil or any of #ThePunisher).
A packed screening and I appreciated the Day One Marvel crowd being the quietest audience I've sat in for a while.
Musing on the importance of friendship, this #SpiderMan outing feels more one for #MCU fans - there is little standalone to recommend to a wider audience (unlike say the freshness Homecoming offered). Gets a bit dominated by an emerging strand.
Serviceable but not standout in the Marvel canon.
#BrandNewDay
Double-bill of things teenage me liked that adult me still likes tonight; first up #SnowPatrol with a show marking the 20th anniversary of their album Eyes Open; then the new #SpiderMan film, #SpiderManBrandNewDay.
