@lou_taxlikethat when you move to industry and you get to chair meetings and discuss organize and lead the work rather than doing the work itself, and the job becomes managing more than doing as such
Hot take.
Requiring professional staff in a CPA firm to work a specific number of billable hours is absolutely stupid.
People who run CPA firms need to stop working their employees to death.
I said it.
I feel that way.
Deal with it.

@going_concern The lack of integrity in the leadership of our profession is not surprising, from forcing staff to eat time, to outsourcing most of the audit work, resulting in reduced audit quality. Maybe auditing itself should be nationalized, the private sector does not value its obligations.
@ElevateVCFO @LoganGrafTax Yes the so called leadership of our profession constantly outsources the junior level accounting jobs overseas, as well as tones of hours and low pay. If I were in university now I would avoid the profession. Mostly due to the lack of character of the professions leaders behavior
@MikeSyl36625988 Yes 100% on point if the partners shared more in general and made it a more attractive job by having enough staffing there would not be so much of a "staffing and pipeline shortage"
This is my Sober Second Thought for the month of June:
Often, when people have problems, friends try to help by taking them out for drinks to forget about them.
Alcohol is a depressant and when the person wakes up the next morning, the problem still exists and is accentuated.πͺΆ
@senatorbrazeau Happy Father's day Senator @senatorbrazeau hope you have an amazing day with your father, he must be proud of all the work you do to improve the public health of this great country Canada!
@MikeSyl36625988 @MikeSyl36625988 I am really happy that there are people like you who work to defend the honour and ideals of our profession. A lot of our professions leadership sell out over a couple of dollars!
@MikeSyl36625988 Every firm I worked for there was tonnes of pressure to eat time. I worked at 2 of the 4 big 4 a canadian national firm and a 10 person firm. I felt eating time is a diminishment of our professions. Lawyers bill whats worked but accountants are too spineless to the clients.
