for years now we've been deluged with opinion pieces & full-length books about how young men are so sad/isolated/afraid to approach girls & women/oppressed by feminists & #MeToo/victims of a cruel anti-male culture ad nauseam; yet, as we see here, these entitled young men at Cornell had not the slightest hesitation or the mildest anxiety about committing a group rape of an intoxicated young woman, a classmate of theirs.
please spare us any more of those pathetic opinion & books pieces about sad young men pining away in loneliness & fear of girls & women.
& especially, please spare us blaming girls & women for their being so sad & oppressed.

Why do sociopathic tech bros see human experiences like art and music as things that need to be solved? Go build apps that aide medical industries or solve real world problems like poverty, homelessness, or hunger. Stop trying to commodify every aspect of being human.

[LSDon @LSDonTV]

The idea that higher education should only be pursued as a way to make as much money as possible is evidence we’ve entirely lost the plot of what it means to be human

all filmmakers do is watch movies. They'll name every classic ever made. Never read a single novel or watch a play. That's why every movie looks incredible but the stories are dog shit

between the cornell 7 and this, in which ASU’s men’s hockey coach essentially killed a kid and their cover-up is so egregious that the rest of the hockey team has revolted, it’s never been clearer that today’s american university will happily sacrifice kids to protect the shield

this is why i’m against the death penalty. as much bloodlust as u may have for those who you think deserve it the justice system is not good enough at determining guilt. innocent people will get crushed as well and do

[Brett Kollmann @BrettKollmann]

Can't wait for humans to have nothing to talk about with each other because there is no shared experiences anymore.

The death of the last vestiges of monoculture and interpersonal connection is only cool to people who don't participate in community anyway, and therefore do not value that interpersonal connection.

I want Cornell to publish the essays they made those rapists write

God, they always go for the arts and humanities and I’m so fucking tired. All you guys see is money, all you care about is profit and gain and power. We need more artists, musicians, writers, dancers. We need more educators, therapists, philosophers-people who UNDERSTAND people.

[☆.｡.:* t0m0ko .｡.:*☆ @mootsheep]

we need more liberal arts students, not less. we wonder why everyone is getting dumber. we wonder why no one can read. we wonder why everyone lacks critical thinking skills. it’s because higher education is completely inaccessible

[David Hogg 🟧 @davidhogg111]

What happened at Cornell is horrific, and it’s a story that we’ve seen over and over and over again. A young woman brutalized, a justice system that closes the case, a school that covers the tracks, and disgusting young men whose “futures” are somehow prioritized over accountability and punishment. I stand with the former Cornell student who came forward to share her trauma, knowing how painful the process of seeking justice can be. I stand with the student journalists at the Cornell Daily Sun who were the first to shine a light on their school’s “pathetic task force.” I stand with all the college students who are rightfully protesting their universities’ failure to keep students safe on campus. As always, young people are leading the way.

Hey, so rape is actually always 100% the rapists fault. There is no level of shared responsibility. This is true. Always. Thank you for coming to my talk.

[Melanie D'Arrigo @DarrigoMelanie]

Trump isn’t making college more affordable.

He isn’t forcing employers to pay living wages.

He isn’t trying to solve the student debt crisis.

He’s just limiting education for Americans.

This is quite literally the end of Pax Americana and our education advantage.

It was already in free fall.

Consider this legislation the final sentencing.

Notice how it’s all degrees that are related to humanities and arts? Literally just pure evil to not alone people to study their passion and dreams. All majors don’t make the money they should because the economy sucks so hard so this whole thing is DUMB
