What is an Apple Cider Donut?
It was brought my attention today that many of you do not know what an apple cider donut is, which is disheartening, so here you go.
Apple Cider Donuts originated in the northeast with the original colonies. Colonists had left over animal fat that they would use to fry, and leftover apple rinds that served no purpose. Since they tried to waste as little as possible this treat was created.
fast forward to the 1950s and a recipe appeared in the The New York Times. Essentially they are regular donuts, with added apple cider in the mix. they are then coated in cinnamon sugar. They are a staple of Autumn in the Northeast, and are amazing. They are available at farm stands, restaurants, and apple orchards throughout the area.
If you have never had one, I highly recommend looking up a recipe online.

2/2 I will fight for freedoms of all Americans even if they don't see the perspective of my own. I am free to live my life because of those that sacrifice so much. #PrideMonth#USArmy#loveislove
Yesterday, the Marines, Air Force, and Space Force made posts honoring the beginning of pride month. The comments on the posts made me disappointed but reminded me why I am in the US Army. It is my freedom to love who I love and I will proudly fight for that right for myself. 1/2
