“And this is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He gave a commandment to us.” 1 John 3:23
@Shandsharp@izthisJudah I guess Jesus Christ and the apostles were all “weak” too? I guess all of the millions of Christians who gave their lives in martyrdom are “weak”? You don’t seem to know what spiritual strength or weakness is. You’re looking through fleshly eyes. May God give you understanding.
@Shandsharp@izthisJudah I know the history. I know the wars of the RCC. I know that Christians for the first 300 years did not go to war against their persecutors, then that all changed in the 4th century. I know all of that, but most importantly I know the scriptural commands to Christians.
@Jenny6158675309@Bongoon1@izthisJudah May the Lord open your eyes. If you reject all of those plain & clear scriptures I cited, then nothing I could say is ever going to get through to you, it’ll take the Holy Spirit giving you understanding. I pray that He does so. Have a blessed day.
@Bongoon1@izthisJudah My position is in submission to the holy scriptures, yours is carnal & worldly, trusting in the strength of flesh, warring against flesh & blood, the literal opposite of what all of those scriptures I gave you teach. Repent. May the Lord open your eyes.
@TatrahElf@Boston_Terf@izthisJudah Can I ask what new testament scriptures you’re basing your view on? The commands to new covenant Christians are very clear; Matt 5:9-48, Luke 22:35-53, John 18:36, Rom 12:14-21, 1 Thess 5:15, 1 Cor 4:11-13, 1 Cor 6:7, 1 Pet 2:18-23, 1 Pet 3:8-17, 1 Pet 4:12-19, Acts 7:59-60
@69hoser@izthisJudah Read Matthew ch 5-7, the sermon on the mount, Jesus explicitly references “eye for an eye”, and tells them that’s not the way anymore.
@TatrahElf@Boston_Terf@izthisJudah Keep reading in Luke 22, the passage explains why a sword was needed, it was to fulfill prophecy. And check the parallel passage in Matt 26:52, Jesus explicitly rebuked the attempted use of the sword for violence. You are welcome.
@Christo58273093@WotanSaxon@scoliver1@izthisJudah For any Christian living during the last 2,000 years, it’s never the time. This is so clear in the NT.
Matt 5:9-48, Matt 26:52, Luke 22:35-53, John 18:36, Rom 12:14-21, 1 Thess 5:15, 1 Cor 4:11-13, 1 Cor 6:7, 1 Pet 2:18-23, 1 Pet 3:8-17, 1 Pet 4:12-19, Acts 7:59-60
@mickeykey65407@Boston_Terf@izthisJudah Oh definitely not. Who said anything about that? Nobody is perfect in this life. The whole “you’re not perfect therefore you can’t ever call out anyone’s sin” is weak & unbiblical.
@ImJustDebi@Boston_Terf@izthisJudah Proving my point for me. You had to use old covenant scriptures and misuse two new test. scriptures. We’re not in the age of old covenant Israel. Our laws come from new testament. That’s why you didn’t deal with any of the scriptures I sent. May the Lord give you understanding.
@mickeykey65407@Boston_Terf@izthisJudah I’m not confused. I just know my bible.
Matt 5:9-48, Matt 26:52, Luke 22:35-53, John 18:36, Rom 12:14-21, 1 Thess 5:15, 1 Cor 4:11-13, 1 Cor 6:7, 1 Pet 2:18-23, 1 Pet 3:8-17, 1 Pet 4:12-19, Acts 7:59-60
@ImJustDebi@Boston_Terf@izthisJudah Matt 5:9-48, Matt 26:52, Luke 22:35-53, John 18:36, Rom 12:14-21, 1 Thess 5:15, 1 Cor 4:11-13, 1 Cor 6:7, 1 Pet 2:18-23, 1 Pet 3:8-17, 1 Pet 4:12-19, Acts 7:59-60
@Theo_Chilton@izthisJudah Taking the scriptures at their plain normal meaning is the opposite of gnostic. Gnostics interpret everything “mystically” and “hidden meaning” and not in a plain sense. The scriptures are clear. Claiming “gnostic” when you don’t like the plain meaning of many scriptures is void.
@deweyd80510604@izthisJudah I never said anyone was or wasn’t a Christian. Only God knows the heart. What I said was the biblical definition for what a Christian is. The new testament is clear, all who are in Christ and the new covenant are Christians. Anyone under the old covenant is not in Christ. Basic.
@brianmit8460@izthisJudah Hate to state the obvious but Roman Catholicism is not biblical Christianity.
Matt 5:9-48, Matt 26:52, Luke 22:35-53, John 18:36, Rom 8:35-39, Rom 12:14-21, 1 Thess 5:15, 1 Cor 4:11-13, 1 Cor 6:7, 1 Pet 2:18-23, 1 Pet 3:8-17, 1 Pet 4:12-19, Acts 7:59-60
@Sukuna_Zenin@izthisJudah Matt 5:9-48, Matt 26:52, Luke 22:35-53, John 18:36, Rom 8:35-39, Rom 12:14-21, 1 Thess 5:15, 1 Cor 4:11-13, 1 Cor 6:7, 1 Pet 2:18-23, 1 Pet 3:8-17, 1 Pet 4:12-19, Acts 7:59-60
@Theo_Chilton@izthisJudah Matt 5:9-48, Matt 26:52, Luke 22:35-53, John 18:36, Rom 8:35-39, Rom 12:14-21, 1 Thess 5:15, 1 Cor 4:11-13, 1 Cor 6:7, 1 Pet 2:18-23, 1 Pet 3:8-17, 1 Pet 4:12-19, Acts 7:59-60
@grok@WotanSaxon@izthisJudah@grok Ok so Jesus DOES ask about there being a sword present but only in order to fulfill a prophecy and that doesn’t contradict the rest of the new testament? Is that right?
@Jenny6158675309@izthisJudah Maybe “weak” in your carnal worldy perspective, but I’m just following the new testament commands:
Matt 5:9-48, Matt 26:52, Luke 22:35-53, John 18:36, Rom 8:35-39, Rom 12:14-21, 1 Thess 5:15, 1 Cor 4:11-13, 1 Cor 6:7, 1 Pet 2:18-23, 1 Pet 3:8-17, 1 Pet 4:12-19, Acts 7:59-60
@NationOdie@izthisJudah If you’re a Christian then these are your authoritative commands from God:
Matt 5:9-48, Matt 26:52, Luke 22:35-53, John 18:36, Rom 8:35-39, Rom 12:14-21, 1 Thess 5:15, 1 Cor 4:11-13, 1 Cor 6:7, 1 Pet 2:18-23, 1 Pet 3:8-17, 1 Pet 4:12-19, Acts 7:59-60
