Always going to be a tricky fixture after the game at our place against them and coming off the back off Saturdays huge result. We started how I thought we would, a bit slow and not quite at it. We deservedly went behind early on, but thankfully, this kick started us. Two quality strikes from Kade and Bradders saw us go in 2-1 up at halftime. I was relatively pleased with how it went and stressed the importance of the next goal. Jordan then missed a pen 👀😳 before Kendall came on and scored a poachers goal. We comfortably saw the game out. With Desborough losing and no answer regarding the buckby fixture, we now know that a win Saturday will crown us champions regardless.

Special mention to Bradders, MOM last night and rightly so as he was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch. He’s been immense the last 3 games since coming back from injury. Exactly what we needed.

“After last weeks 11-0 victory it was important that we continued to push on with 3 points. We started off with a couple of fitness tests which meant Will McCelland was fit enough for the bench and Kade not fit at all.

After 3 minutes Bobby Dance pulled his calf which meant he had to come off to add to the growing injury list. We started the game ok on a sticky pitch and got ahead through good finish from Jhai dhillon. Almost immediately Leighton equalised where we didn’t switch on from the restart. We continued to press forward but with no real quality in the final third. Few words said at half time and we started the second half with a goal.
Then T was sent off for a pull back even though there was a covering defender. We changed shape, and then I also got sent off as the ref didn’t agree with me pointing out he got the decision wrong.

To the lads credit they saw out the second half to get the 3 points. A deserved win on the overall performance which puts us top. Now to stay there…”

Our MOTM today went to Conor Clarke, He was very composed on the ball and lead the backline very well. Calmness and experience got us through the second half. Well done Clarkie 👏🏽

“After our struggles in front of goal it was pleasing to see us turn that on its head yesterday. A great start saw us 2 nil up inside 4 minutes. My first thought was I didn’t want the game to go like it did against Royston where we stopped doing the right things. Thankfully we kept our foot on the metal and we pushed for more goals and found ourselves 6 up at halftime. We even managed to miss a penalty and their keeper made 3 top saves.
At half time I stressed I wanted us to keep pushing for more goals and a level of performance to match the first half. We took a bit of time to get going but scored another 5 to give us a bit of a statement win.
Special mentions to Bobby Dance in for his first game with us this season, superb up top and deserved his goals. Worked brilliantly with new signing Archie Sayer who was equally as good. Jhai Dhillion gave us that extra bit of quality, Connor Clarke with another clean sheet and a couple of goals.

But MOTM went to Kade bagge. A goal and a constant threat and kept pushing us forward.
