@tobi@hurrya1@TheBillykirk@SAP@n8n_io Unrelated, but please introduce a B2B 'lite' (maybe with annual sales revenue caps) that isn't £20,000 p/a for small businesses, having to pay for a sub par third party apps that have limited integration due to Shopifys processes is really jarring.
@TJTheWheelDeal@TeslaXplored Almost 25,000 miles on my AWD Model 3 tyres and still over 4mm tread left on them. Plaid Model S is just a different planet in performance, so ofc you pay more
@hardspacer@LancashireLady3@HukAleksandra@AaronBastani You've just made my point and you somehow don't even realise it?
Employer NIC's & Employee NIC's are basically interchangeable. It's a roundabout way of taxing people by stealth.
So OP's point was and is valid.
Glad we're on the same page.
Corporation tax is on profits.
Employer NICs are on labour - before profit exists.
One taxes success.
The other taxes hiring.
You may have a ltd company, but you've clearly never hired anyone. Otherwise, you'd know that your Employer NIC's would've gone towards an improved salary for the employee had they not been taxed first.
@hardspacer@LancashireLady3@HukAleksandra@AaronBastani Wrong.
If employer NICs vanished, competition forces salaries up - not tax rates.
Denmark has 0.5% employer charge vs UK's 15% with higher net pay, it's not rocket science.
@hardspacer@LancashireLady3@HukAleksandra@AaronBastani Employers NIC's are literally just NIC's taken before they've even made it to the payslip. That money would've gone to the employee instead had it not been taxed. They were conceived purely to obscure the real level of tax burden from the employee.
@LancashireLady3@HukAleksandra@AaronBastani Once you account for 15% Employers NIC's & 20% VAT on most purchases, you're well above 45% total tax paid on £100k income...so no, she's not wrong.
Read this. Blair's objective with ID cards is clear: it includes financial transactions.
In other words, the state could, at a stroke, be able to block your ability to buy goods & services. Possibility for previously unthinkable authoritarianism.

I will not be supporting this.
Tony Blair has been pushing this agenda for more than two decades, always using one excuse or another to justify it.
It's never been fully implemented - and we must make sure it's stopped this time too.
I am firmly opposed to @Keir_Starmer’s digital ID cards.
It will make no difference to illegal immigration, but it will be used to control and penalise the rest of us.
The state should never have this much power.
